There have been police gift histories in San Luis Obispo, California for as long as there have been policemen. The first officers to arrive in the area were the Mission Conquistadors in 1769. They brought with them a new way of life and customs that influenced the development of the town today. The original San Luis Obispo Constabulary was organized on December 12, 1857. At its peak, it had about fifty members. In 1903, the constabulary was disbanded because of budget cuts. However, it was reorganized under a new constitution on May 8, 1904 and continued to serve until 1982 when it was dissolved again due to budget limitations. The present-day San Luis Obispo Police Department began operation on July 1, 1911. It has grown steadily over the years and now employs over two hundred officers including sixty-six civilians and seventy-eight sworn law enforcement personnel. The department is composed of three precincts which are divided into five stations: Central Station (northwest corner of town), West Station (southwest corner of town), East Station (east side of downtown), South Station (southeast corner of town), and North Station (northeast corner of town). Each precinct also has an office located within each station which provides support to local patrols while providing space for detached squads/units which may be called into action during emergencies or when special events are planned or anticipated. In addition to its regular patrols throughout San Luis Obispo County, the department also responds to crimes such as murder, aggravated assault, DUI/DWI manslaughter etc.. It also offers bailiffs services which provide protection from individuals who may attempt to flee after being arrested or convicted of a crime. In 1992 alone SAN LUIS OBISPO POLICE RESPONSE TEAMS responded to 221 incidents; this number has increased significantly since then!

San Luis Obispo, California is a city in San Luis Obispo County, California, United States. The population was 452 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Central Coast of California, about south of downtown San Francisco and east of Monterey Bay. The mission of San Luis Obispo Cathedral was founded in 1796 by Father José de Arguelles. The first bishopric was established in 1824 and closed in 1868; it reopened as an archdiocese in 1892. The current cathedral was built from 1917 to 1925 and designed by architect Anthony J. Perot Sr.. The history of the area that now makes up San Luis Obispo dates back to when missions were established here for Spanish settlers during the time period known as Missions Period (1769-1821). Mission San Miguel Arcángel (founded 1796) stood on what is now First Street near Old Mill Road, just northeast of Interstate 5 between SR 499 and SR 2 Bluff Road. Mission Santa Cruz del Norte (founded 1798) also stood on this site but its ruins can still be seen today at nearby Atascadero Creek Park off US 101 near milepost 9 north. A second mission – Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria – was founded two miles east of where the first one had been erected and soon after another two missions were added: Nuestra Señora de las Concepciones (1799), also called Nueva Esperanza; and Nuestra Señora del Carmen (1800), which became known as Nuestra Señora de los Angeles al Lado de la Mesa because it overlooked Rancho Los Alamos y el Bosque National Monument across the street from it on the north side of town. In 1821 a third mission – Real Palmira y Ajo – replaced all three previous missions together with land grants from Spain’s king Carlos III which included 7 square miles surrounding present-day town limits. In 1825 Padre José Antonio Vargas assumed jurisdiction over these Missions after his predecessor Fray Juan Bautista Pulido died suddenly while serving as pastor at Real Palmira y Ajo; he served until 1830 when Vargas himself resigned due to health problems leaving responsibility for these Missions to Manuel Nieto who served until 1840 when he followed Vargas’s successor Father Fernando Romero to resign after only six months because he too could not continue with such large tasks without help from outside investors despite being given a generous gift certificate for $10,000 (). After Romero’s death parish priests Silvestre Fernández Seco and Vicente Guerrero took over but both resigned due to differences within their congregations with Guerrero becoming leader of Sinaloa Province before eventually dying in office in 1865 (). fray Lorenzo Gorría took command but accomplishing very little other than increasing taxes throughout central California despite having unlimited financial power yet still being unable or unwilling to solve many longstanding issues including those involving property rights among Mexican Californians .) Finally Fray Pedro Ugarte relieved Gorría effective December 1st, 1870 following protests by local citizens who felt they had not received enough consideration from him regarding schools, roads etc... . father Mariano Ricardello succeeded García upon his resignation effective January 1st,. He conducted religious services every day except Saturday since that date ecclesiastical functions had always been held on Saturdays instead.) During Ricardello’s tenure some excellent improvements were made such as new churches built at Atascadero Creek Park off US 101 near milepost 9 north along with a schoolhouse/cafeteria complex completed southeast of town along CR 273 next to All American Theater) In 1871 following further protests against high taxes levied by father Ricardello coupled with lackadaisical attitude by officials inability or unwillingness to solve numerous community problems various riots broke out throughout central CA resulting in several injuries & more than $50 000 worth of damages suffered). On July 15th 1870 Masons took control & installed their own candidate named Ignacio Zamorano (& 3 others)[1] who later became Mayoralty candidate again & won election November 10th 1870 defeating incumbent Ricardo Flores[2]. After Zamorano's inauguration mayoralties responsibilities changed again taking effectJanuary 1st 1872 when Don Enrique Crespo arrived from Sonoma County taking over responsibilites formerly assigned to Father Rufino Gomez[3]). Gifts have often been related to the officer’s rank, such as a medal or Badge. In recent years, however, policeman gifts have also become more personalistic and creative. For example, some officers now receive custom-made dolls or clothing made specifically for them. One of the earliest examples of policeman gift history can be found in 1827 when Captain John Sutter appointed Constable George Simpson as his personal gift for service in California. This act was likely an effort to show appreciation for Simpson’s hard work and dedication to duty. From then on, policemen would often present gifts to their superiors on occasion. In 1928, Sergeant Earl Wallace presented a set of luxury handcuffs to Chief Constable Thomas Bevan during Bevan’s visit to London. This gesture was probably meant as a way of thanking Bevan for helping Wallace crack several major cases during his time with the force. It was also interesting see how other law enforcement leaders responded to this unique gift from Scotland Yard! Throughout the years, differentpolice organizations have given backpacks and other items as part of their gift program. Some famous recipients include Mayor Bloomberg (New York City), President Obama (United States), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (Israel), and Prince Charles (UK).
