Maga Coffee was founded by two Italians who were looking to promote their country's unique brand of coffee. They named their business after a place in Italy where they had originally grown coffee – Maga being an abbreviation of "Masiaro" (the original name for San Marino). The first beans were ground onsite at the restaurant. The popularity of Maga Coffee quickly grew throughout California. In 1973, it opened its first store outside of San Marino – in Santa Clara County! By 1977, it had expanded its operations to include three stores across Northern California. In 1984, Maga Coffee became a franchisee and began selling beans to other businesses statewide. Today, Maga Coffee continues to play an important role in the history and culture of San Marino – providing delicious cup of java to locals and visitors alike!

San Marino is a small city in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 3,817 at the 2010 census. It is located on the eastern edge of Riverside County and adjacent to the cities of Jurupa Valley and Moreno Valley. The first Europeans to visit San Marino were Spanish missionaries in 1769. They named it Islas Malvinas because of the Juan Bautista de Anza Expedition's landing there on October 15, 1769. The mission was abandoned in 1827 and its land became part of what is now Riverside County. A post office called San Marino opened in 1868, and remained open until 1914. A hunting resort was developed near present-day downtown San Marino in the late 19th century by wealthy investors including Adolphus Wirths Sr., one of America's original millionaires who made his fortune as an oilman and developer. The town grew rapidly with new residents drawn by the hunting opportunities available hereabouts. In 1907, single women started living together in a group home known as "The Girls." In 1916, they moved into their own house which still stands today on Monument Street across from City Hall (now State Capitol). There were only 8 women living at "The Girls" when World War I began; however, within 2 years they had tripled their number to 24 due to recruiting efforts led by then-Mayor Charles Evans Hughes Jr.. After World War II ended, many young men returning from military service found jobs working in local businesses or joining the Marines or Navy - many settling down here permanently after discharge from service (the last such wave arrived just before 1970). However, during this time period there also arose new prostitution scandals - most notably that associated with Mayor Hughes' wife Betty Joanne Hughes (1921-2006) who operated a brothel out of her home on Euclid Avenue for several decades until being arrested for pandering offences under state law following an undercover sting operation targeting her business operations.). In recent years there has been much redevelopment activity taking place around downtown; primarily mixed use housing developments with restaurants, shops and other services accessible directly off Interstate 10 south of downtown which have helped revive some aspect of what once looked like an essentially sleepy little town ....

The small, picturesque country town of San Marino is located in the central valley of California. The town was founded by Italian Americans in 1853 as a seasonal resort for the wine industry. The name “San Marino” comes from the Roman province of Samnium, which extended from Rome to Genoa and included what is now southern San Marino. At first, the Italians built their homes on sand dunes overlooking Lake Como. But as the wine industry grew and production increased, they began to build more permanent homes. In 1875, they voted to become a chartered city and incorporated as a municipality with a population of just over 100 people. Today, San Marino has a population of around 30,000 people who live in 8 Victorian-style brick buildings that are popular tourist destinations for their historical landmarks and beautiful environments. The town also has 2 large parks with hectares (4 acre) each, an art museum with several dozen exhibitions per year, and two libraries with nearly 200 books stored inside them. The history of San Marino can be traced back to when it was part of the Republic of Italy before becoming part of Switzerland in 1919. After World War II ended, Italy reorganized itself into 14 regions and San Marino became one of them. It was officially recognized as an autonomous region within Italy in 1963 and has since had its own government Structure without sharing power or control with other regions within Italy or Switzerland. In 1970s there were discussions about moving the seat of government from Turin to San Marino but no action was taken due to political reasons surrounding Turin’s status as capital city for both Italy and Switzerland
In 1871, San Marino became a part of California. The first white people to live in the area were Mission Indians who arrived in 1851. In 1865, the U.S. Military built Fort Ross on the site of present-day San Marino and it was used as a military post until 1893 when it was turned into a civilian town. The townsite was renamed San Marino on July 1, 1890 after Major General John P. Moran, Commander of United States forces in Southern California during World War I. In 1951, the general population of San Marino reached 5,000 and its official name changed again to Santa Margarita County on October 6, 1959 by Governor Earl Warren.
