At various points along its history there were also spur lines connecting these businesses together serving as food delivery services or being used as meeting places for business meetings/conference calls etc.: Government House line ran east/west past downtown through Hearst Avenue goods yard thence north along Government Road racing track thence east along Hearst Avenue whorehouse stopping opposite Mrs. Gassett's grocery house where passengers disembarked upon their arrival at Pier 27 opposite Ferry Landing

On May 24, 1912 an earthquake hit Monterey Peninsula bringing widespread damage including entire villages destroyed or lay waste. With no indication that an epicenter existed near their town they did not fear any potential consequences such as loss of life or significant damage but decided to move their city hall into their old schoolhouse which also served as their hospital during times when disease ran rampant through the area."
