I first visited San Marino when I was living in Southern California for graduate school; at the time it was still an unincorporated community located just east of downtown LOS ANGELES on Mulholland Drive near Redondo Beach (now part Of Hollywood). It had a population then estimated at around 50-70 people but now there maybe only 10-15 people left who claim descent from pioneers who settled here during the early 1900s
