In the early 1900s, San Pablo was a small town in California. However, it soon became an important military and aerospace center due to its location at the intersection of two great airfields: Edwards Air Force Base and Point Mugu Naval Air Station. The city hosted successive aircraft production plants including North American Aviation and Lockheed Aircraft Company until World War II when the area was turned into a bombing range for the Strategic Air Command. Today, San Pablo is home to both the San Pablo Airport (which serves as a regional airport) and several major defense contractors including Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, Boeing Co., General Dynamics Land Systems, TRW Inc., and many more. However, there are also several major commercial businesses located in adjacent neighborhoods that continue to support local economies. One such example is the Los Angeles County-owned shopping mall located in downtown San Pablo which has been open since 1961. In addition to its retail component, this mall also contains several restaurants and bars which continue to serve up delicious air force food products from all over the world during wartime periods. One of history's most significant gifts came from America's military forces when they donated land on which San Pablo Airport now stands. The donation was made byMajorGeneral Curtis Eaker who served as Commander of United States Forces in Central Europe during World War II. Upon his return home, he assigned his services towards developing an airstrip capable of accommodating large bombers for use against Nazi Germany He personally purchased 4 acres of land near what would later become San Pablo Airport from local farmers in 1945-46 for $1 million dollars! This gift not only helped make San Pablo one of America's most important aviation centers during World War II but it also continues to play an important role today as one of Southern California's primary airports serving both domestic and international passengers!

San Pablo is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 23,471 at the 2010 census. It is the fifth-largest city in Contra Costa County and the third-largest in Alameda County. The City of San Pablo was founded on December 21, 1849 by Colonel James W. Richardson as part of Rancho San Pablo Spanish land grant to Antonio Bancroft. The first post office for San Pablo was established on March 14, 1851 by Phebe Dillingham from Yuma County. On November 10, 1865, it became a town with a permanent school board and mayoralty under the name of "San Pablo". The current name of the city comes from Mission Dolores de San Francisco (1834), which was renamed "Dolores" after Mexican president Vicente Guerrero's visit to Northern California in 1847. On January 1, 1888 it incorporated as a City with full powers to levy taxes and make laws not subject to state or local vetoes. In 1951 an act became known as "The Richardson Act", which allowed black Americans who had served in World War II or were citizens of South Africa or Australia to become citizenships without having to serve out their entire naturalization period; this action helped encourage more African American immigrants into white society and led directly to the downtown revitalization that has occurred since then. In recent years some efforts have been made towards downtown revitalization through various initiatives such as art walks and public programming such as poetry readings and music festivals throughout the year
