When the United States Air Force was founded in 1947, it had only a few planes. The Air Force needed more planes to carry out its missions and support the war in Korea. So, in 1948, President Truman authorized the development of the jet engine. This new engine allowed the USAF to purchase many more planes and conducting its missions effectively. The first jets were built by North American Aviation. The first jet plane was called an F-86 Sabre. It flew for the USAF on July 15th, 1946. The Sabre was designed by John Prentice Clark and built by North American Aviation company Limited at their plant in Wichita KS USA. The USAF also purchased other types of aircraft like the Boeing 707 and Bellanca CV-11A/B aircrafts from British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) during this time period too. These airplanes became known as "Airframes 1 through 9". After World War II ended, America needed to find ways to fund its wartime debts so it could continue operations during peacetime too! Congress passed a bill authorizing $50 billion be raised through taxation over 10 years starting with 1949 which would go towards paying off America's wartime debts and creating a new financial system that would last until 1978! That money went into building new military bases all across America as well as creating new technology such as jet engines and radar systems! In 1951, Washington D C created Strategic Air Command which led to America's domination of air warfare during the Cold War era! During these years there were numerous gifts given away by members of Congress including: fighter jets, bombers, missiles etc... Many people forget about how important it is for our military leaders when we give them something special in return! One example is Congressman Bob Marshall who gave away two jets - one being an F-4 Phantom IIC known as "the White Knight" which he christened "Eagle 2". He also donated four B-29 Superfortresses called "The Thunderbolts" to SAC in order improve US strategic bombing power against Japan during World War II! This gift set back Japan's ability to rebuild after Hiroshima; however they managed to build another bomber campaign using American help within three years afterwards under Emperor Hirohito's directions! The town of San Ramon, California was founded in 1847 by Father Francisco Corral and the Sisters of Charity. The town was named for St. Raymond of Ravenna, who evangelized in the area. The first post office was established in San Ramon in 1851. In 1861, the town became part of the new California Territory. In 1865, San Ramon became a city and it has remained that way ever since. In 1907, San Ramon added a ZIP code to its name which helped increase its population by 100%. The city's growth led to various improvements such as an enlargement of our city hall and expansion of sidewalks and streets. In 1951,San Ramon won one of the two City Council seats from Contra Costa County and has continued to be a key player on local government ever since. Today, San Ramon is home to many businesses including restaurants, stores, schools and government entities as well as numerous families who earn their living within its boundaries. We are proud to call ourselves a "civic community" that values public service and support for our citizens throughout their lives - something we take pride in each day!

The population reached 100,000 by 1907 and by 1920 it had increased to 300,000 people. During World War II, San Ramon served as an important defense location for Northern California with its extensive military-industrial complex. After the war ended in 1945,San Ramon experienced rapid growth with new subdivisions being built and employment increasing rapidly. By 1970, the city had reached its current size with over 1 million residents.
