Maga Coffee continued to be operated by family members until it was sold to George Mueller in 1912. In 1925, another Norwegian immigrant named Harry Borge purchased Maga Coffee from Mueller and continued to operate it under the name "Borge's". From then on, Borge's Cafe was one of the most popular cafes in town. During this time, Borge also developed a reputation for being an excellent tea brewer and served up some of the best cup of maga coffee ever made. After purchasing Borge's Cafe from Harry Borge in 1957, Nelson Rosenthal took over as owner/operator of Borge's Cafe until he died in 1993. After Nelson Rosenthal's death, Alice Kapp took over as owner/operator of Borge's Cafe until she passed away in 2003. Since 2003, Alice Kapp's daughter has been running the business as a mom-and-pop operation with her husband serving as co-owner/operator.). Today there are several businesses that continue to serve up great cups of maga coffee including Node Java House which is located on First Street adjacent to Maga Café; Boneo’s Pizza which is located at 17th & Franklin Streets; Bake & Bite which is located at 105 W Third St.; Joe’s Place which is located at 419 Main St.; Crowne Plaza Inn - The Rose Room - Which offers direct services such as check-outs both morning and evening hours; Starbucks - At least two locations (one inside City Hall and one outside); The Ritz Carlton Hotel - Offering breakfast only; Sunnyside BBQ - situated on Topanga Canyon Boulevard near State Beach All these businesses were started because people found success drinking maga coffee rather than buying it pre-packaged or nationalized like many other types of coffees across America during that time period
