It wasn’t until 1881 that John Hagee organized what would become known as the “Santa Fe Rifle Club” which offered shooting lessons to local men and boys aged 10-14 years old. The mainstay of this club was their annual rifle match where members would compete against each other using any type of weapon they could find including handguns (which were not common at this time). This event quickly became one of the most important events in our club calendar and helped make Santa Fe Springs a premier shooting destination for people from all over America."

Santa Fe Springs is a community in San Diego County, California. It was established in 1916 by the merger of two smaller communities, Santa Ysabel and La Jolla.
