In 1948, Mrs. Myrtle Kapp gave her son-in-law, Donny Kapp, a gun for his birthday from his collection of handguns dating back to World War II. Santa Maria is a small, unincorporated community located in Sonoma County, California. The population was 528 at the 2010 census. Santa Maria is located on U.S. Route 101, north of Petaluma and south of Novato. The first European to visit Santa Maria was Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in 1602. The mission was founded on May 29, 1797 by Father Francisco Xavier Sanchez and Brother José Altamirano with the help of local Native Americans. In 1821, the Mission San Miguel de Agua Caliente became part of the Mexican Republic as part of its western territory following the Mexican-American War. In 1852, a post office called "Santa Maria" was established at the junction of US 101 and Indian trail #2 near present-day Dane Road (then State Route 1). The first postmaster was Manuel Perez Guerra. In 1857, US 101 was realigned to its current routing through town after it had been used as a wagon road from Napa Valley toUpper Sonoma County through what is now Petaluma and Novato during the Gold Rush period; it passed through town northeast on Indian trail 2W then northwest on current US 101 until just before it crossed Ulysses S Grant Boulevard east of town in 1915 when that route became SR 1A After World War II ended in 1945, SantaMaria gradually lost its importance as an agricultural center due to increased transportation links withinSonoma County and also because agriculture declined across muchof Northern California following World War II . However, there has been recent growth in retail businesses such as art galleries and restaurants along SR1A including several new high-end shopping centers built since 2000 BP when SB1A intersects I-5 exit 128 just north of downtown SantaMaria There are plans for further development along SR1A with aspirations for both commercial and residential uses over time; this includes developing a streetcar line between downtownSB1Aand centralPetaluma which would provide important commuter connections between these two areas

In response to this new development, Nicholas-Jacques Conte created a new type of firearm called the “Percussion Pistol” which he put into production at his company’s factory in Arras near Paris. The first pistols using this ammunition were produced between 1847 and 1850. When European countries united under one banner during World War I (1914-18), many civilians lost their lives as soldiers armed with rifles fought against each other on various fronts around the world including Europe. Santa Maria, California was founded on December 25, 1850 by Miguel Costilla and his wife María del Carmen. At the time of its founding, it was one of the most rural areas in California. It is a small town located in Santa Clara County, less than an hour's drive from San Francisco. The Costillas named their settlement after Saint Martha, who had died during the Mexican-American War. The community grew slowly until 1875, when there were only twenty-four residents. In that year, news of the discovery of gold in California led to a rush to Santa Maria. The population reached one thousand by 1880 and fifteen hundred by 1890. By then, however, the costal atmosphere had changed so much that many people decided to move away for economic reasons or because they found life too difficult in such an isolated location. A new courthouse and jail were completed in 1917 and 1925 respectively; both are still standing today. The post office opened on January 1st, 1892; it was discontinued effective November 15th of that year due to mail service being provided by San Francisco instead . A fire destroyed part of the building on February 2nd 1915 which caused $50000 damage . However another new courthouse – also built without assistance from Government funds – was completed in 1919 and remains in use today as the district courthouse for portions of Santa Clara County
In 1849, the United States Congress passed the Santa Maria Land Donation Act, which gave land to the People of California. In 1853, General Don José de San Joaquín y Arellano founded the first mission in Santa Maria. The mission was destroyed by a fire on December 17, 1853. In 1861, Mexico gained independence from Spain and began an effort to extend Mexican control over all of Central America. As a result of this effort, Mexican settlers started moving into what is now Southern California in search of new lands to expand their empire. On January 1st 1870, California became a U.S. state when it was added to the Union as part of the westward expansion of the United States. On that date, Santa Maria became part of Los Angeles County and it has been its home ever since.
