Santa Maria, California is a small town in the Santa Barbara County of California. The population was 7,868 at the 2010 census. It lies on the western edge of the San Gabriel Mountains and is bordered by Carpinteria to the south, Cathedral City to the east, Islip to the north and west, and Agua Dulce to the northwest.
