The Santa Paula Shooter Gift History began in 1971 when The Santa Paula Rifle and Pistol Club purchased a unique .22 caliber rifle from the former owner of the local gun store. The club soon became known for its annual “Shooting Festival” which attracted top-tier shooters from around the region. In 1973, the club partnered with local pawn shop to offer a one-time-only deal on firearms. attendees could trade in their old guns for new rifles or pistols. Over time, the festival grew into an annual event that saw locals and visitors from all over come to shoot at local ranges. By 1984, the event had become so popular that they decided to move it outdoors to make it more spectator friendly.Today, the festival is still one of Santa Paula’s biggest attractions and attracts thousands of visitors each year. The shooting range is open daily from 9am to 10pm and offers amateur, beginner, and pro levels of shooting. There are also several food vendors and amusement park rides available for guests to enjoy while they fire off some rounds!

Santa Paula is a small town in the U.S. state of California, located about 8 miles south of the Mexican border on Interstate 5. The population was 5,693 at the 2010 census. It is part of Orange County. The name "Santa Paula" comes from Spanish "santo patricio", meaning " holy man". In 1821, José María Cámpora founded a mission called San Francisco de los Padres Católicos (Father Francis Xavier's Mission), which later became Santa Paula National Park. Myriad waves of immigrants helped to make Santa Paula what it is today; its broad main street, Main Street EPW (EAST Petersburg Way), recalls early days when many people came and went in search of work and commerce. In 1849, American prospector George Hearst bought land east of town for $10 per acre and began building a rancho called Rancho Santa Fé de las Pulgas (The Springs of Santa Paula). The first post office was established in 1860; by 1870, there were five hotels and several stores in town. In 1875, an act passed by Congress designated the area around present-day downtown as Yosemite National Park.[1] Then came World War II: In 1942 California became an all-volunteer state; as a result, many towns throughout the United States closed their businesses during that wartime boom time as soldiers left to fight overseas or took jobs with war production plants back home. This included Santa Paula – though most residents still worked in local businesses or managed farms or ranching operations]. One reason for business closures may have been increased expenses related to defense needs such as ammunition rationing and new technology such as radar detection systems used by bombers flying over New England.] When troops returned from Europe after World War II they found that much of East Coast America had been abandoned while much remained virgin territory; this policy change contributed to economic stagnation after 1945 until major metropolitan areas like Los Angeles began suburban growth faster than smaller towns could keep up with demographic changes.] In 1957 sales tax rates were raised from 7% to 10%. The Santa Paula area in California was first inhabited by the Ohlone people. In 1835, gold was discovered in the area, and settlers began arriving. The town of Santa Paula began to grow up around what is now the downtown area. The first post office was established in 1848, and the first school opened in 1851. The town became a district of Rancho San Pablo County in 1850, and then part of Contra Costa County in 1955. As California developed into an agricultural society,Santa Paula grew into a major center for agriculture production. Many large dairy companies were based here, as well as tanneries, breweries, and other manufacturing businesses. Today much of the economy focuses on agriculture and ranching activities. The population of Santa Paula has grown steadily over the years, reaching over 100,000 by 2000.
On November 15, 1850, the town of Santa Paula was founded by Captain Abelardo Perez and his wife Josefa. The first post office in Santa Paula opened on February 3, 1851. The first store in the town was built by John Gorman and Isaac Brown. On December 9, 1865, the town was renamed Ventura County after Count Felipe de la Vega y Ortega y Ocampo, who had been its founder. The community began to grow rapidly due to its location between Monterey Bay and San Francisco Bay. In 1871 an irrigation canal was built through the town which helped to increase crop production. In 1876 a new courthouse and jail were completed and served as the county's main offices until 1912 when they were replaced by the current building located at 501 N. Main Street. During World War I Santa Paula enlisted in the United States Army and served as a camp for troops from California until 1918 when it became a naval air station handling fighter planes used in World War I. Afterwar service included duty as a naval supply depot until 1919; then he resumed civilian life with some agricultural land near present-day Simi Valley before dying in 1942 at age 85 years old from cancer of the larynx
