However, over the years various entrepreneurs began to produce and sell coffee products in Santa Rosa. One such entrepreneur was Nicholas Roerich who started the Java Coffee Company in 1872. Santa Rosa is a city in the U.S. state of California, and the county seat of Napa County. The population was 138,558 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Santa Rosa Peninsula, about 12 miles (19 km) north of San Francisco Bay. Santa Rosa's history goes back to 1868 when it was part of Yountville and then Napa County. In 1875, it became its own independent municipality when it replaced Yountville as the county seat. The City Hall is a 1-story, Queen Anne style building built in 1906 by Mayor Samuel Jahankel for $5,000. The original City Hall was destroyed by fire in 1916; this building was replaced with a more recent structure in 1951. As of 2017, the current City Hall has been renovated three times and is used as both municipal office space and event space for local organizations such as chamber of commerce meetings and high school graduation ceremonies

In 327 BC, a man named Pheidippides found two pottery cups that had once held water and now held coffee. The first coffee cup was made in Iran in the 6th century AD. In 1848, a Dutchman named Hendrik de Vries discovered coffee beans while on his travels through West Africa. He brought them back to Holland where he started to process and sell the beans. By 1855, Coffee House Coffee Company was founded in Rotterdam by Nicholas-Jacques Conte. The first espresso machine was built by Angelo Biscotti in 1892 in Milan, Italy. It used a plunger to make espresso drinks. The first self-service café opened up at the Ritz Hotel in New York City in 1912 with Italian owner Giovanni Boccioni’s son Mario as its operator. At this time, espresso machines were limited to using one type of roasted bean per drink which led to many variations over time including superautomatic machines that use more than one type of roasted bean for each drink (e.g., an Italian Menu). Café life shifted from home into town squares with these machines when they became popularized at international expositions like World Fairgrounds such as Stuttgart’s trade fairs (eGiftShop Exhibit A) during the last decade of the nineteenth century In 1914–15 Luigi Bezzera developed what is considered by most experts as the world’s first automatic cappuccino maker – Bezzera Automatic Coffee Machine No 2 – at his spa cafe La Scala on Via Monza near Milan’s Piazza San Marco Square (Estate gift 1916). This machine made various types of cappuccinos without making any noise like other automated machines then available; it could be heard only when used! From here on automation spread throughout Europe slowly but surely until eventually all cafés became automated beginning with Roastery Donatellone's flagship store inside Rome's Colle Oppio starting 1966
