The first coffee shop in Santee, California opened its doors in 1911. The business was operated by a couple of Italian immigrants who named their business "Coffe & Sons". In 1917, the first machines were used to roast coffee. In the early 1920s, aMrs. Charles Pease founded the Pease Coffee Company in Santee and served coffee from her home until she sold it to Harry Rowe in 1929. In 1941, Mrs. Pease donated her entire roasting and selling operation to the City of Santee for use as an educational center for children and adults with special needs. In 1957, Harry Rowe's son Charles took over operations of the company and renamed it Harry Rowe Coffee Company Incorporated. In 1984-1985, Harry Rowe's grandson John ran the company when John's father died suddenly at age 97 years old. As part of John's grandfather's wishes, he changed the name of the company to Harry Rowe Coffee Company - Santa Clara County Incorporated which still exists today as one of Santa Clara County’s oldest businesses operating continuously since 1892!
Santee, California is a small town located in the San Joaquin Valley of California. It is known for its wine industry and for producing some of the world's most famous red wines. The population was 6,512 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1872 by brothers George and Caleb Santee as a small station on the Butterfield Overland Mail route between Sacramento and Oakland. At first, Santee consisted of only a few homes and an old barn. The Santees were able to start a winery because they had access to good soil, water, and vineyards in their area. Today, Santee has over fifty-six acres of vines that produce over one million gallons of wine each year. One reason why Santee is so successful with its wine production is because it uses natural methods to make its wines: it does not use artificial additives or chemical treatments like many other wineries do. In addition, it also has great customer service; people here are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you get your wine fix!

Santee is a small town in San Diego County, California, United States. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Paso Robles–San Luis Obispo-Paso Cordova Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Santee were Spanish missionaries in 1815. The town was founded by José María Cisneros and his wife Concepción on November 6, 1828, as "Hacienda de San Francisco". Santa Clara Mission served as the town's first mayor. In 1845, after Mexican independence was proclaimed, Hacienda de San Francisco became part of the new Mexican state of Baja California; however, it continued to be administered by the mission until 1862 when it merged with other missions within Baja California's newly declared state of Alta California. In 1850, three brothers - José Antonio Nieto y Islas (1811-1897), Manuel Nieto y Islas (1827-1907) and Agustín Nieto y Islas (1836-1920) - organized a group of entrepreneurs to purchase Hacienda de San Francisco from its previous owners for $200 (). They renamed their new community "Santee" after one of their own ranchos situated near present day Escondido in San Diego County. The founders leased land from Mission Santa Clara for farming and developed it into what is now Santee Village adjacent to Rancho Negro on North Valley Boulevard. In 1875 Juan Andrés Sepúlveda married Concepción Moreno y Cabezon in Santee; they had four children: Santiago Enrique Sepúlveda (baptized December 15th 1865 – died May 3rd 1917), Conchita Moreno Sepúlveda Fernández (December 16th 1870 – September 14th 1944), Olga Sepúlveda Fernández (July 4th 1881 –January 8th 1968) and Pedro Pablo Sepúlveda Fernández (August 12th 1886 –May 25th 1959). Santiago EnriqueSepúlveda participó en la insurrección armada contra el Ejército Mexicano en 1915 bajo el nombre de "El Pancho Villa". He died while serving as an artilleryman with Battalion 2 Regiment 20 May 1916 Coyuntura del Carmen Militar during fighting against General Emiliano Zapata’s forces in Morelos State Army campaign south of Mexico City
Santee is located on the banks of the Sacramento River and was founded in 1848. The town was named after Anthony de Bougainville, who discovered the river while exploring southern California. Santee became a thriving center for irrigation and trade, and soon developed into a town with its own government. In 1863, Santee was chosen as the location for California's capital; it remains the state's only county-level jurisdiction to remain unincorporated.
