The Santa Claus Unit was organized to distribute gifts to military families. The unit used donated items from Lockheed Aircraft Company employees and their families. Personnel from the Air Force Fighter Wing also participated in the exchange. Twenty-four individuals from various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces contributed items for the exchange. These include pilots, airmen, generals, spouses, and children of service members. More than 1,500 pounds of donations were received during the event.
