The Coast Guard has been in Scotts Valley for over 80 years. The first coast guard station was established in Scotts Valley on May 4, 1903. In 1951, the Coast Guard Station No. 1 was moved to current-day Pueblo Heights and the present day Coast Guard Station No. 3 was established. In 1958, the new station building was built on Sherman Way in Scotts Valley and it is still used today as the headquarters for the Coast Guard District 10 in Scotts Valley. The Auxiliary Life Support Unit (ALSU) also originated from this station and currently resides at Moffat Park in San Diego County. Today, there are nine stations within District 10 which include: Pueblo Heights, Chula Vista, Monterey Park, Daly City, San Marcos Beach, Petaling Jaya and Tomales Bayou. These stations provide law enforcement services as well as support functions such as Search and Rescue missions when necessary.

Scotts Valley is a town in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 3,977 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Riverside-San Bernardino Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name Scotts Valley comes from Hetch Hetchy Water Park and McCoy Ranch which are located in today's town. The first permanent settler in Scotts Valley was James McCoy who ranched land on the north side ofpresent Day Scotts Valley. He built a cabin there in 1868 and named it "McCoy Ranch." In 1875, he purchased 8 acres (3 ha) of land south of present day Scotts Valley from David Wolkomir for $2,500. Wolkomir had come to California with his father and mother as part of the Gold Rush. He started farming there and named his farm "Wolkomir" after his father. In 1876, he sold his land to John Pemberton for $8 per acre ($302/ha). Pemberton founded what would become Corona del Mar Naval Air Station on part of his ranch in 1922 (the air station remains extant today). In 1886, one year after Pemberton's death, Arent Janssen bought 80 acres (32 ha) east of present day Scotts Valley from developer Frank Kittrell for $10 per acre ($488/ha). Kittrell developed this area into a busy commercial center with shops and homes that served the surrounding community until the early 1960s when development slowed due to prohibition laws against alcohol sales in those days. From here on out Scotts Valley became known as an agricultural ghost town; however some residents still ventured outside their homes to enjoy nature until recently when nearby Riverside began experiencing rapid growth that has led to more people visiting Scotts Valley each month than ever before! Today Scott's Valleys retains much of its original pioneer culture including art galleries, antique stores and restaurants such as Old Wild Fruits BBQ & Catering which serve up fresh produce straight from their garden daily!
Scotts Valley is a small town in eastern California. It was founded in 1887 by Samuel Scotts as a farming community on the banks of the San Gabriel River. The town grew rapidly during the late 19th century and early 20th century, reaching its peak population of around 50,000 in 1925. However, Scotts Valley's growth stalled during the Great Depression and World War II; it only regained its size and prominence after the opening of Interstate 10 in 1991. Today, Scotts Valley is home to a small but growing population of retirees, as well as several thousand students from nearby Los Angeles County colleges.
