Seal Beach is a small town in the county of Orange, California. The population was 4,718 at the 2010 census. Seal Beach is located on the Pacific Ocean's North Coast and has an unincorporated community, Newport Beach, adjacent to it. The name "Seal Beach" comes from the Spanish word "seal," meaning "to cover." The town was first established in 1887 as a result of land sales made by millionaire Adolphus Seaweed. ItOriginally lay on a tidal beach between Newport Harbor and Point Loma State Park; but as ocean levels rose over time, so too did the beach's width and depth. Today, Seal Beach straddles both coasts with its longitude line running east-west just north of state Route 1A (the coastwise approach to Los Angeles). As early as 1847, sealers had been using this area for their trade with local sea lions and sealskins being sold for high prices at auction in San Francisco and other cities. In 1868 David Jones discovered oil along what is now Seal Beach Boulevard while prospecting for oil in nearby Monterey County; subsequently this became one of the most important petroleum discoveries in America. The commercial development that followed soon began to take off due to increased shipping traffic caused by daily shrimp fishing tournaments being held off Long Island Sound which were then transported across the open ocean by vessels using Seal Beach's harborfront piers - today much of what used to be Seal Beach Boulevard has become part of South Pasadena street grid

The Dutch founded a coffee house on The Hague’s Vlamingstraat in 1624. From this point forward, coffee became popular all over the world as a beverage for sailors, soldiers, and others who needed an instant caffeine fix during long sea voyages or when traveling through difficult regions where tea would not be available. During the 18th century, wealthy people began importing large numbers of African slaves who were given immunity from labor laws while they worked in European plantations. This allowed Europeans to get their hands on some of the most rich cocoa pods that have ever been found; this also led to the birth of Ethiopian coffees as well as Colombian coffees which are now more popular than ever because of their unique flavor profile. In 1835, Napoleon issued his Napoleonic Code which made it illegal for private companies like Starbucks to sell coffee without prior written consent from royal courts across France. Coffee became very important to French society at this time because it helped keep the country going during tough times and allowed for continued trade with other countries despite Napoleon’s rule. Coffee quickly spread throughout much of North America after English colonists arrived there in 1607 and began trading with Native Americans for food products such as meat, hides, tobacco, and beads (which is why we see red dye added directly into many blends). By 1764, Boston had become one of the leading cities in America due to its growing population andSTD trade with Britain (especially around Philadelphia). At this time, java – bagels or pastries – started becoming popular among gentlemen on business trips or when visiting friends or family back home (and later acquired by other merchants). In 1795-97 John Adams served as President of America while he was living in Paris; during his stay he enjoyed several cups of joe every day at one of fashionable cafes called Les Deux Magots near Notre Dame Cathedral! After his presidency ended however he abandoned all social activities apart from drinking espresso at a café called L’Odeon located near Place Vendôme due to concerns about money being taken away from him indirectly through taxation policies set by King Louis XVI himself! After serving two terms as President without any elected power whatsoever he returned home sickly under doctor care before dying three years later at age 89 years old! It is interesting note that although today most Americans think “coffee goers” are only those who enjoy A LOT OF COFFEE - IN REAL LIFE THE MAJORITY OF AMERICAN CUSTOMERS ARE NOT ONLY NON-COFFEE GOLFERS BUT ALSO NON-PATRIOTS!! Seal Beach is a census-designated place in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 8,859 at the 2010 census. Seal Beach is located on the southern coast of Orange County and is part of the OC Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Seal Beach were Spanish Missionaries in 1769. In 1821, when Mexico became an independent country, Seal Beach became part of the Mexican state of Alta California. In 1848, after several years of riots and lawsuits over ownership of beach property by various groups including wealthy investors from Southern California and Nevada (the so-called "Beach War"), Alta Californians voted to divide their state into two parts: San Diego County would include Seal Beach while Monterey County would include Topanga Canyon. In 1853, during construction of the Central Pacific Railroad through Orange County, workers discovered salt water inside a caves under Signal Hill which had been hidden since before Captain John Caddo's 1639 discovery in southern Orange County. This triggered development around Signal Hill as whaling and fishing villages sprang up along Long Pointe (now called Main Street), West Cliff Drive (later named Highway 1), East Cliff Drive (later renamed Highway 2) and other peninsula areas near Signal Hill until 1870 when whaling stopped due to competition from oil exploration off Santa Barbara Peninsula. Seal Beach began as an unincorporated community located about southeast of present day Huntington Park on Signal Hill Road; it post office was established on May 3rd, 1903. On January 22nd 1915 residents created a town charter with a population of 25 inhabitants centered around Seawall Boulevard between Long Pointe Road and Saugus Avenue). The first mayor was Wm Fenton who served for one year until his successor Halsey Laughlin took office on November 7th 1915 On July 1st 1922 the town annexed The Village Of Huntington Park which had a population of 500 people but no municipal services or authority
