In Seal Beach, California, there has been a long andGun lover history. The city was founded in 1892 by the dredging of mud flats that extended into the Pacific Ocean. The name "Seal Beach" came from the Spanish word for "island of seals." In 1922, an amendment to California's Constitution granted city status to Seal Beach. The first gun purchaser in Seal Beach was Wm Henson on December 7, 1912. He bought a six-shot revolver at the Second National Pistol Club Meetings held in San Diego. On July 4th, 1913, Mrs. Fenton bought two revolvers at the same meeting for $6 each. She later gave one to her son George Washington Fenton Jr., who also became a police officer in Seal Beach. On January 6th, 1915, Jno Coyle purchased two pistols from Harry Kapp of Ventura County for $5 each and took them home with him to Seal Beach. On June 16th 1915 Rufus King leased land from Atherton Corporation near present day Main Street and Race Point Harbor and built his own pierrace called Kings Landing which served as the town center until 1916 when it was destroyed by fire (still standing). After King's death in 1916 sealers replaced Kapp's anchors with heavier ones making it possible to do dry dock operations without fear of damage or loss of life while out at sea; this allowed more commerce within town limits which supported new businesses such as grocery stores and hardware stores etc.. In 1920 Leland Yerkes organized a local hunting club which met monthly at Mitchel Park behind Seaweed Restaurant on what is now First Street North (later known as Yerkes Avenue). November 2nd 1920 saw its first shot fired when Capt John Mueller hit an animal with his rifle during game hunting at Clearwater State Park about three miles east of town along US-1 (now SR 245). From then until 1934 there were sporadic meetings reported annually but no formal organization till October 1930 when Capt John Mueller organized a group known as The Gun Makers who typically met every third Monday evening at Bear & Son Hardware Store on Third Street South (later absorbed into City Hall) where Elections were held immediately after chapel services Thursday evenings pursuant to state law providing for public electioninductions Calendar months ending November 3rd included March 1st so Captain Mueller decided against holding elections every year he directed all membership dues money towards building fund needed for harbor improvements referendum authorized May 5th 1933 finally establishing Seal Beach Ratified by Mayor Gorman permitting establishment becoming incorporated January 3rd 1934 incorporation creating original City Council consisting of Mayor, Vice President James Purdy (a dentist), 5 residents Trustees Jeremiah Bilyea Addison Bartholomew Blanchard Byron Carden Chadbourne Cline David Dobson Edwin Fleming Frank Gruber Maurice Huck Henry Jenkins Lew Keyestock Lloyd Kronstein Louis Levy Snider Solomon Snyder Thurston Stout Walter Vonnegut

The history of the Seal Beach Gun Lovers Guild goes back to at least the early 1800s. One of the first organizations in Seal Beach was the Pistol and Rifle Club, which met monthly in an old fruit orchard on Third Street. The club developed into a gun enthusiasts group that meets regularly to share information, shoot guns, and trade tips on how to keep your firearms safe. In 1907, the club formed a newsletter called The Sea Lion, which served as a source of news and advice for members. In 1912, the club founded its own magazine called The Gunsmith. Over time, other clubs have joined the seal beach gun lovers guild - such as The Pistol & Rifle Club (1976), The Shotguns & Rifles Association (1991), and NRA shop #1 (1993).

In 1907 it became part of Orange County and saw its first annexation by Los Angeles County. The commercial importance of Seal Beach has declined since then; nevertheless, it remains one of Southern Californias most popular tourist destinations due to its wide range of attractions including stunning beaches, surfing beachcombing and kiteboarding parks, antique shopping malls and wine country towns such as Chateau Miraval and Rutherford Hill.

Seal Beach, California is a city located in Orange County, California. The population was 21,711 at the 2010 census. Seal Beach is situated on the southern coast of Long Island Sound, about 26 miles south of downtown Los Angeles and 14 miles north of Santa Ana. The town was founded in 1887 by Greek immigrants working on a beach near San Clemente. It became an incorporated city in 1959. The first post office opened in Seal Beach on December 1, 1887. The name came from the sealife that used to frequent the area - seals were often seen swimming near the shore during early days when there was no water available for fishing. In 1939, Hollywood star Bing Crosby made his movie debut as part of the cast of "The Three Musketeers". In 1941, he co-starred with William Powell and Mary Astor in "Darling defaults". In 1944 he starred as Vinnie Vincent opposite Deborah Kerr and Jayne Mansfield in "The Girls from New York City". On November 8th, 1957 a severe storm caused extensive damage to several businesses within Seal Beach as well as some vehicles along Interstate 5 between Huntington Beach and Seal Beach; including one which overturned onto its roof after hitting a rock outcropping; making it one of the worst commercial disasters ever suffered by either side of I-5 within Southern California. This event became known locally as 'the day our town went bankrupt'. It wasn't until 1978 when then Mayor Artie Lange engineered what would eventually become known as 'the rebirth' or rebrandingof Seal Beach - moving away from its weathered past into something more modernized with new housing developments such as Residence Inn across State Street (then called Harbor Boulevard) just off Irvine Boulevard – now home to many North American restaurants including Zuka Pizza and Chipotle Mexican Grill – while keeping much of its historical architecture including many old wooden homes preserved for public viewing only minutes walk away along Ocean Boulevard facing Aquarium Park
Seal Beach was founded on May 10, 1892 by J.W. Seal and his wife, Emma. The town was named for the seal that Mr. Seal found while hunting seals in the area. The first post office was established in 1894 and the first store opened in 1896. In 1925, a fire destroyed most of the town, but it reopened two years later with help from donations from people in nearby towns. In 1941, Seal Beach became an incorporated city and has since grown enormously with its population reaching over 100,000 residents today. The city is home to many important local businesses including Toyota Motor Manufacturing Company (TMMC), Seaworld Parks & Entertainment Center (SEAP) and North Coast College (NCC).
