Seal Beach, California is located on the Pacific Coast of North America and was founded in 1894 by brothers John and James Seal. The city became an official town in 1907, and today it has a population of over 100,000 people. The Seal family were among the first to settle in Seal Beach. Their father, John seal, had come from England in 1853 with his family. They started a small grocery store on Church Street and later opened athaletery. In 1892 the seal brothers bought land at the mouth of Harbor Boulevard for $5 per acre and began to build a modern harbor based water system that would serve their town. The original harbor included docks, warehouses, and homes for workers. The city of Seal Beach was incorporated on February 24th 1907 by resolution of the City Council with boundaries including present-day neighborhoods of Oceanside Heights, Hermosa Beach/WestOrange Village, East Carlsbad Village (now Anza), Redondo Beach/Carpenter Avenue) as well as sections of Harbor Boulevard north of Hermosa Beach Boulevard east of Redondo Boulevard Today more than 100 businesses are situated within Seal Beach's borders including restaurants such as Zouk Mediterranean restaurant which is open since 1978; Hyatt Regency Marina – home to 5 Marriott properties; Pier 39 Seafood Market; downtown Business District anchored by Starbucks Coffee & Dunkin Donuts locations; Orange County Regional Medical Center - one block away from Town Hall Plaza; Naval Air Station Lemoore - one mile offshore from town center The city also features many parks such as Live Oak Park which includes tennis courts (with artificial turf), playgrounds, basketball Courts (with hardwood floors), soccer fields (with grass infields), baseball diamonds/pits/courses etc.; Solomon Islands National Park - across Harbor Boulevard from downtown; Point Loma State Park just outside town limits along Highway 1 Military gifts have been present in Seal Beach for more than two hundred years! One example is when brothers John and James SEAL created Harbour Boulevard in 1892 which served as the basis for what exists now as Seal Beach's harbor system. Another example is when Admiral William Halsey donated twenty crates full of cannons to be used against Japanese forces during World War II . These donated items came to be known as "the Halsey Collection." Additionally many members or families who have played significant roles within our military have given gifts ordonated goods to local charities through various means. Many examples include: First Lieutenant George Armstrong Custer who donated money towards building Stonington Navy Yard; Rear Admiral David Wysocki who contributed ten boxes filled with clothing and supplies to support American troops fighting in Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm ; Captain Jeffry Goldberg who gave nine parcels filled with food donations directly to Action Aid USA after Katrina hit New Orleans ; Lieutenant Colonel Rebekah Mercer who Donated five cases worth $2000 each fillingthree truckloads with clothes needed for soldiers deployed overseas during Operation Enduring Freedom

Seal Beach is an unincorporated community in Alameda County, California. It was founded on February 2, 1894 by J.C. Seal and his family as a result of the place's strategic location between San Francisco and Oakland. The first post office in Seal Beach was established on July 16, 1895. The town rapidly grew during the 20th century due to its natural resources and its proximity to American warships stationed at nearby Alcatraz Island. In 1941, the U.S. Coast Guard constructed a patrol buoy near Seal Beach in order to prevent any ships from accidentally entering or exiting San Francisco Bay without permission. During World War II, Seal Beach became a major military center with dozens of naval vessels moored there for training purposes and for bombing raids against Japanese targets in the aircraft carrier USS "Tigers" and other warships off San Francisco Bay. After the war ended, many of these vessels were sold or scrapped, but some remain in use today as museum cruises or tourist attractions operated by the Naval Historical Center Museum Fleet Outfitting Squadron Sixteen (NHCS16).
