The first coffee was roasted by a man named Pilsner in the city of Munich, Germany in 1795. In 1814, Italian coffee producer Giovanni Addolorato introduced a new type of coffee that became known as "Puccino".

Shasta Lake is a beautiful, refreshing water Reservoir located in the redwood forests of Northern California. It was formed by the combined waters of Shasta and Trinity Rivers. The name “Shasta” come from the two Indian tribes that inhabited this area before white settlers arrived: The Shastas and the Klamaths. The first Europeans to visit Shasta Lake were fur traders in 1825. They named it Clear Lake because of the clear waters which they saw when they landed at its shoreline. By 1851, however, most of the original aboriginal people had been killed or driven out by white settlers who began developing this region for agriculture and cattle ranching. In 1876, John Muir discovered Shasta Lake while hiking along nearby Mount Shasta. He named it after his friend/ mentor, Dr. George Parkman (1792-1865). In 1916, during World War I, American soldiers built an airfield at one end of the lake for use by fighter planes; however, it was never used due to its remote location and challenging terrain. After World War II ended, Shasta Lake reverted back to its natural state and became a popular tourist destination for locals and visitors alike. Today, it remains an important recreational resource for those living in Northern California as well as anyone who visits this beautiful region!
