The climate here is mild but dry; consequently, grapevines are often grown in irrigated valleys that run through the mountains. At first they were just looking for a stopping point on their journey down into what would become Yosemite National Park – which at that time was still part of Mexico – but eventually became more interested in making it an Officers’ Training Camp providing education for Mexican Scouts hired by American forces during World War I. It wasn’t until 1937 when Officer training facilities were closed due to budget cuts within the military and then reopened as part of California State University at Fresno when local citizens donated land east of campus where today’s grocery store stands. Today, much like old days there isn’t much else going on here apart from tourists visiting the wineries or locals enjoying shopping at local farmer’s markets during business hours; both activities continue despite dwindling numbers due primarily to tourism rather than economic reasons according to Village Manager Donny Gonzales Sr.. There has also been talk about moving the entire village closer to Fresno for convenience sake since broadband internet service is now available just outside village boundaries which could make day-to-day life here easier for everyone involved although Gonzales says there have been no formal plans yet filed... Despite this lackadaisical attitude towards things however, there are plenty of opportunities for day trips or walks outside town limits such as hiking up Coyote Canyon or following an interpretive trail leading down into Coyote Lake where you can see deer playing fetch amongst ancient trees dating back over 5500 years!

At its creation, the GLO had about 1 million acres (4,000 km2) in area but soon realized it needed more space so it established new offices and subdivisions throughout California.
