The history of Signal Hill coffee starts with two farmers, George and Anna Kapp. They started growing coffee in the early 1800s on property that is now part of the University of California at Davis campus. In 1892, they opened the first commercial signal hill coffee house and continued to serve quality beans until 1951. The signal hill Coffee Company was a major player in the Sacramento-San Francisco Bay Area caffeine scene for over 50 years. In 1984, Signal Hill Coffee Company merged with another local business, the Pacifica Coffee Company. The new company continued to produce high-quality coffee until it closed its doors in 2009. Today, many people know about Signal Hill Coffee from their local grocery stores or through online sales. Signal Hill is home to one of America's oldest coffeepots and has been a center for roasting and brewing coffee since before there were refrigerators or internet cafés!

Signal Hill is a small town in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 18,965 at the 2010 census. Signal Hill was founded on March 25, 1886 by Don Pedro Gomez and his wife Fanny Martinez. The name "Signal Hill" comes from an early Spanish mission built there in 1769 which used to send signals to Mission San Gabriel Arcangeles in downtown Los Angeles. In 1922, the first coffee processing plant opened here. In 1951, Signal Hill became the first place in Southern California to produce whole bean coffee for retail sale. In 1990s and 2000s, Signal Hill began becoming known as a center of roasting and brewing excellence for premium coffee beans worldwide. today Signalfield produces over 2 million pounds of fresh roasted whole beans each year
Signal Hill is a census-designated place in Contra Costa County, California. The population was 14,898 at the 2010 census, which increased to 18,711 in 2013. It is located near the eastern edge of Berkeley and the southern edge of Oakland. Signal Hill is also home to UC Berkeley and nearby Stanford University as well as many other research universities. The hills that make up Signal Hill were first used for farming and now serve as a popular tourist destination for hiking, biking, and bird watching. There are several large parks in Signal Hill including Donnybrook Park and Cherry Orchard Park. The area around Signal Hill has been inhabited by Native Americans since before European exploration began. In 1776 an American military expedition led by General George Armstrong Custer discovered what would become known as Signal Hill; this site had been occupied by the Ohlone people since before they arrived in California Bay Area in the late eighteenth century. After his victory over Spain at Buena Vista Creek on January 17, 1847, Ulysses S Grant ordered General Robert E rings Howe to send forces into Northern California to suppress any Indian resistance following his campaign against Mexico City’s Mexican defenders during that year’s Mexican War (1848-1849). On February 12th of that year General Howe’s force reached San Francisco after encountering very little opposition from indigenous defenders who had wisely withdrawn southward towards Sacramento under cover of nightfall. Although it resulted in some civilian fatalities due to friendly fire from American troops manning artillery batteries positioned atop nearby hills,[1] signal hill became one of America’s most famous battlefield battlefields because it helped lead to Ulysses S Grant becoming President of the United States two years later on November 6th, 1851.

Signal Hill is a small town in Kern County, California, located about 12 miles north of Bakersfield. The population was 1,565 at the 2010 census. The first Europeans to enter Kern County were the Spanish who built Mission San Gabriel Alta in 1834. A post office called San Gabriel was established in 1846, and the name was changed to Signal Hill in 1872 because of its high mountain-summit location. Signal Hill's richuan history began with the establishment of the Kern River Road Company on September 11, 1886. The company built a wagon road from downtown Bakersfield through Signal Hill and Downey to connect with Southern Pacific Railroad tracks near Needles. In 1925, Californian millionaire George Eastman donated $5 million dollars to build what is now known as Eastman School District #1 (later renamed Kern Valley Unified School District) in east-central Kern Valley. In 1929, when new state laws forced school districts to merge into larger jurisdictions, Signal Hill became part of Eastman District #2 (now known as Alpine). In 1936, when other communities within Eastman District 2 seceded from it to form their own districts, SignalHill remained withinEastman District 2 until 1959 when it rejoined West Hollywood Union High School District #1 as part of that district's reformation following passage of Proposition 13 (the "Guns for Teachers" campaign). Signal Hill has experienced many changes over its years including growth towards agriculture and industry; decline during World War II due to munitions production; and recent revitalization via an influx of young people drawn by its nightlife and attractions such as its golf courses and water parks. Despite these challenges there have been some key successes such as becoming home base for the Kern River Race Course which opened in 1985; Highway 99A being widened in 2007; and area becoming one of the most diverse suburban areas in California with over 100% Asian residents at the 2010 census.
The Signal Hill post office was established on December 25, 1873, by J.C. Noyes. The first postmaster, A.H. Bemis, served for two years until he was replaced by Wm.Falk in 1875. In 1880 the post office moved to its current location and remained there until it was discontinued on February 15, 1915.
