She later served as flagship for Rear Admiral Harry J.notice and again during the Battle off Samar on December 8th 1944 while led by Rear Admiral George Cables carrier task force which successfully destroyed Japanese naval forces at Leyte Gulf As part of Operation Cartwheel American Expeditionary Force On July 13th 1945 USS Oklahoma (BB-38) became an oceanographer ship under Naval Surface Forces Atlantic Fleet when she replaced HMS Beagle who had been lost at sea with her master and all crew members aboard while operating off southwestern Cuba During WWII she served both as an oceanographer ship & minesweeper When decommissioned on November 4th 1946 she was sold to Uruguayan Navigators Association y Construcciones de Mar y Pesca y Agulhas y Mangueva y Varela Aereas Ltda., now Cruzeiro SA

Sonoma is a small city located in the Sonoma County, California region. It was founded on December 12th, 1853 by Captain George C. Bancroft and his brother-in-law, Nathaniel Bayles. The City of Sonoma has grown over time to become one of the most vibrant and diverse cities in Northern California. With its mix of old and new architecture, cultural attractions, beautiful parks and miles of wine trails, Sonoma is a top destination for tourists and residents alike. The history of Sonoma dates back to 1853 when Captain George C. Bancroft and his brother-in-law Nathaniel Bayles arrived in what is nowSonoma County from Douglas County, Arizona with the intention of founding a new town in this area called "Nathaniel's Valley." After many False Prophets were proclaimed throughout the area because there was no water or land available for farming, they finally found success with their first farmstead at present day's intersection of Rohnert Park Boulevard (now Highway 101) and Clay Road (now Highway 238). This started a!! years long struggle between them and other pioneers until eventually Nathaniel won out by donating 400 acres (16 km2) of land which enabled him to build a large ranch house known as "Bancroft House" on what is now Clay Road. In 1875 David Seamans purchased 4 tracts totaling 8 square miles (20 km²) north of present day Sonoma city limits from Captain Bancroft for $8 per acre ($160/km²). In this purchase he acquired the rights to what are today’s irrigated vineyards around Napa Valley as well as entire hillslopes east of downtown Sonoma City limits that had been used for grazing sheep before being bought by Seamans. Today these areas make up much of neighboring Petaluma Township along with parts of Rohnert Park Borough including Orinda.. The wines made from these vineyards continue to be popular today both within Sonoma County itself as well as across Northern California under various names such as Dry Creek Vineyards & Winery., Sir Francis Drake Winery., Geyser Hill Vineyard., etc.. During World War IISonoma became an important center due to its proximity to Naval Air Station Novato which was home to North American Aviation Ferrying Wing #1 during World War II providing air transport for troops stationed overseas. Many famous aircraft were built here including Boeing 757s flown by pilots such as Buzz Aldrin, Jr., Tom Wolfe and more. As part Of The Novato Industrial Area redevelopment agreement identified certain industrial sites adjacent to NASNovato that would have important post-war economic growth potential it was decided that NASNovato should become an urban renewal district encompassing much portionsof northwestern San Francisco extending into Marin County under the jurisdiction of Urban Planning Office headed by Drury Hawkins.. For many years after WWIISonomas economy revolved largely around agriculture but since 2000the city has begun experiencing rapid growth driven primarily by visitors originating from outsideofSonoma County who come looking for wine country experiences rather than agricultural production
