Airforce gift history in South San Francisco began with the incorporation of the South San Francisco Regional Airport on November 12, 1944. The airport was originally built to serve as a military airfield used by World War II veterans and their families. In 1949, the FAA activated the Airport when it purchased land adjacent to the old military airfield. A hangar and two runways were constructed on what is now First Street and University Avenue. On May 10, 1957, Air Force One was parked at SFRAP during a state visit by U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower. That same year saw the opening of an annex which served as a hangar for Air National Guard aircraft assigned to Larkspur AFB north ofSFRAI. In 1966, SFRAP became operational as an international airport serving Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). In 1974-1975, an annex was constructed to house both domestic and foreign airlines under one roof at SFRAP-South San Francisco International Airport Annex. This project included new terminal buildings (the North Terminal), runway expansion (south of current Runway 4L/27R), and addition of Hangar 3 which housed additional airline facilities such as check-in counters, restaurants and lounges. In 1984-1985, another annex was constructed just east of runway 4L/27R which served as a cargo handling facility for both domestic and foreign carriers under one roof with its own taxiways andpron leading directly to Hangar 2 at LAX’s terminals I & J. These projects also added parallel runways featuring high-speed traffic patterns making this airport ideal for instrument flying training operations conducted by USAF Basic Flying Training squadrons located there during various phases of their training program from 1991 through 1998 while they were still stationed at Larkspur AFB prior to their move to Davis-Monthan AFB near Tucson AZ in 1999; however these programs have since ended or been cancelled altogether pending changes in air force doctrine that would make them less necessary today given current technological capabilities On November 30th, 2006 South San Francisco Regional Airport celebrated its centenary with celebrations including flyovers by 6 USAF Boeing C-17 Globemaster III strategic bombers from Luke AFB in Arizona); flyovers by P‐2C Neptune maritime patrol aircraft flown over Pier 14; local musicians playing music throughout day long; ribbon cutting ceremony;and BBQ dinner inside newly renovated Terminal 1A following morning's Flyover from Luke AFB followed by photo ops outside Terminal 1A with locale's top law enforcement officials prior to flight departure South San Francisco Regional Airport is currently undergoing renovations designed specifically for it’s 100th anniversary including installation of new infrastructure such as concourses capable of accommodating up to 20 million passengers per year plus additions such as a large arrivals hall complete with passenger lifts/elevators providing access from every floor above ground level making it possible for customs clearance procedures also taking place simultaneously inside the building thereby reducing time needed outside for luggage handling . There are also plans being made soon for constructing a large baggage claim area adjacent to Terminal 1A capable of handling even more containersized luggage destined for other Southern California airports future!
The United States Air Force (USAF) is one of the most powerful militaries in the world and its members are some of the most capable pilots and aircrews in the world. The USAF is comprised of more than seventy thousand active duty enlisted personnel and a further ninety thousand civilians who support the military through contract, volunteer or student roles. The USAF has around sixty-six operational bases worldwide with an additional fifty-six squadrons flying F-15E Strike Eagles, F-16 Fighting Falcons and E-3B Sentries. In total, over two million troops serve within the USAF today. Airforce gifts are an important part of USAF culture and tradition. From insignia to clothing, all USAF members are given unique items that represent their service to country. Some recent examples include: a Boeing 727 jet airliner crashed into Mt Kilimanjaro during Operation Everest; a Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules transport plane used by air forces in Afghanistan; an A350 Airbus aircraft used by RAF Tornado GR9 fighters; M777 SAM missiles system which was gifted to Jordanian Air force; a Boeing 747 jet airliner donated by Delta Airlines as part of its donation campaign for US military veterans; and CF-18 Hornet fighter jets which were gifted to Oman’s Royal Air Force in recognition of their contribution to coalition airstrikes against ISIL militants. This paper will explore whyairforce gift is such an important part of US military culture and how it has been used in past years both abroad and domestically. Additionally, it will cover some possible future trends that could impact this area of gifting within the USAF.
The San Francisco Air Force Base was established on December 12, 1941 as the first United States Air Force Base in California. The base was activated with a contingent of the Ninth Air Force and became operational on February 1, 1942. The First Tactical Group at South San Francisco was activated on August 25, 1942 and served as Headquarters Squadron Fourteenth Wing at the airfield until it disbanded on October 15, 1942. On July 29, 1943 the wing moved to North San Francisco and assumed mission of flying training units for Operation Overlord which began on September 2nd. In 1945, the wing returned to South San Francisco where it remained throughactivated in 1948 prior to its closure in 1951. In 1952-1953 there were two active USAF wings stationed at SFO-North Carolina (1st Bombardment Wing) and SFO-Arizona (2nd Bombardment Wing). Both wings were disbanded in 1953 when they merged into one unit known as Ninth Air Force Command Post Redding AFB which is now part of United States European Command's command center located within Ramstein AB Germany

The first Europeans to visit what is now SouthSanFernando were fur traders from Russia who set up camp at Point Reyes on February 14, 1827. The next year Spanish explorers also visited but did not find anything valuable or interesting. It wasn't until 1846 that a group of American missionaries founded missions here and named it after General Angel de Ayala y Ruiz which means "holy mountain" because it was seen as a location where God would show His favor to their people. From these mission churches began the growth of this community into one of the most diverse areas in North America with over 360 different languages spoken here today! Although originally just an agricultural outpost, early settlers started to build up some infrastructure here including schools and hospitals which quickly became integral parts of this emerging town. By 1900 SouthSanFernando had reached its current size with over 20,000 residents! A number of industries have arisen along with this population growth – many examples include shipbuilding, banking, garment manufacturing and health care services – but there has always been something unique about this place: its diversity! Today SouthSanFernando continues to be one of the most vibrant cities in America with incredible cultural opportunities for everyone from Latinos to straights alike! The city offers amazing food options including world-renowned taquerias like Tacos El Chaparral and Mexicali Burger Shop as well as Latin-estyle cafes like La Bodega Blanca and Cucina Mexicana all situated within walking distance of each other making it easy to get your fix without leaving your doorstep! The city of South San Francisco was founded in 1847 by American soldiers, sailors, and Marines who were stationed at Fort Point on the Golden Gate. The city grew rapidly due to its location near the new port of San Francisco, which opened in 1851. In 1868, South San Francisco became an independent municipality within California. The population of South San Francisco reached 100,000 by 1907 and 300,000 by 1915. The era of prohibition ended in 1920 and large amounts of jobs and wealth resulted from the industry that sprang up to support prohibition. In 1933, South San Francisco became a part of the City of San Francisco.
