Air Force General Curtis LeMay once said, "The air force is the most important part of our nationaldefense." The Air Force has played an integral role in American society for over sixty years. It is one of America's premier security services and its purpose is to provide mobility, firepower and expertise in order to defend the nation against potential external threats. The United States Air Force was established on July 15th, 1947 as a merger of two separate organizations: the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) and the Navy's Aircraft Squadrons. On September 20th, 1947 President Harry Truman signed Executive Order 9990 which created the USAF. The first operational aircraft were Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter planes. In 1949, the USAF became operational with Boeing B-29 Superfortresses. On October 31st, 1952 Secretary of War George C Marshall issued Presidential Directive No. 595 which directed all U.S. military commanders to "establish an air arm...to be called upon to carry out any aggressive mission or operation not inconsistent with our policy toward Korea." This directive marked a turning point in USAF history as it signaled that hostilities would soon take place in South Korea and required a new organization -the North Korean Peoples Army (NKPA) -to provide air cover for U.S forces fighting against Kim Il Sung's regime. By 1954, Operation Neptune's Spear had finally ended Kim Il Sung's rule in South Korea and American forces were withdrawn from the country leaving behind a failed state made up largely of Soviet Union supported NVA troops backed by Chinese advisors numbering some 14000 men who operated within three ringed cities around Pyongyang -a city then little more than a collection of warehouses and barracks surrounded by barbed wire fence). In 1955 Congress passed Publius Act 90–584 which provided $161 million for procurement for USAF modernization including bombers such as the Boeing 707 jetliner; fighters such as Lockheed P-61 Black Widow; missiles like Polaris ICBM’s and AIM-9 Sidewinder missile launchers; helicopters like Bell AH-1 Cobra gunships; amphibious assault vehicles like Dassault Mirage IIIC tanks etc.. However this money never reached squadron commanders or aerospace engineers needed to bring these programs into fruition because there was too much bureaucracy at DOD Headquarters bogging down what should have been simple procurement projects instead creating long drawn out development campaigns leading nowhere... Finally on May 25th 1957 President Eisenhower signed Executive Order 11146 which redirected all funds earmarked for fighter modernization towards strategic guidance systems development program making it possible for AF squadrons throughout the armed services to purchase guided missiles capable of engaging targets deep inside enemy territory thus ending forever ground support operations flown by pilots wearing just wingsuits! Today while Air National Guard units may operateighthawks Biggs Wing Beechcraft Kingair turboprop airplanes they are not actually members or part of either wing represented at ANGEX2018...nor will they ever be....the Wright brothers flew their first airplane less than fifty miles from where I am standing today.....and yet we consider them historical figures! How can this be when so many people who have worked closely with Aeronautical Systems Command during my time here at ANGEX2018 don't even know about them?!!

Stanton is a small town in Northern California, located between the Sacramento Valley to the north and the Central Valley to the south. The population was 3,851 at the 2010 census. It is part of Stanislaus County. The first permanent residents of Stanton were Native Americans whoOriginally lived near Yosemite National Park and hunted antelope, deer, and bear. After years of exploration and construction by traders from nearby San Francisco, Mission Dolores arrived in 1824 with plans to found an American mission on Rancho Santa Cruz (now part of Fresno). However, six months after landing, complaints from Native Americans led to Mission Dolores' abandonment. In 1837 Governor Manuel Michelinore ordered Jedediah Smith to purchase 5 square miles (12 km2) of present-day Stanton for $1 per acre ($10 per hectare). settlement began with 160 families from various parts of Northern California that year. By 1840 there were 1,600 people living in Stanton proper and 2 brick churches had been constructed. In 1849 a group of farmers led by Elisha Leland purchased land east of town on what is now Ulysses Road for $4 per acre ($20 per hectare). This area became known as "Leland's Basin." Leland built two sawmills there which powered local transportation; one until 1865 and another until 1902. He also planted alfalfa throughout much of his rancho including in what is now downtown Stanton. His grandson developed much of downtown Stanton into its current form as well as developing some other residential areas east side streets away from I-5 freeway access
