The Suisun City National Guard was established in 1934 as the first city police force in California. The present day National Guard is made up of local, state and federal officers who serve together to provide law and order in Suisun City. The history of the National Guard can be traced back to October 1, 1934 when the California State Legislature passed a resolution calling for the establishment of a city police force inSuisun City. On October 15, 1934, Mayor John A. Moffitt appointed George W. Pendergast as the first commander oftheCity Police Department with the mandate to create an unarmed national guard branch within city government to supplement existing forces. Pendergast would later become acting Chief of Police during World War II. In 1937, Congress enacted Public Law 90-618 which created a U.S. Coast Guard District Grand Canyon Harbor Division which included Suisun City Harbor so that military vessels could dock there without subjecting Suisun citizens to search or seizure by Navy personnel on their way home from fishing trips or business visits ashore (this event is now known as "Dockfest"). On February 14, 1941 two American planes were shot down over Japan while flying over Yokosuka Naval Base; this event became known as The Day The Earth Stood Still and was interpreted by many residents as meaning that war was coming soon (it didn't).On December 3rd 1945 President Harry S Truman signed Executive Order 9466 establishing an all-out effort calledOperation Crossroads which aimed at crushing organized crime throughout America (this event is also now known as "Project Paperclip"). This period saw great changes for the San Francisco Bay Area including increasing immigration levels and growth in Suisun City's population from around 6,000 people in 1940 to over 30,000 by 1970 inclusive). As such it has been difficult to determine exactly when or how certain National Guard gifts arrived into our community but most likely they did so during this time period either through donation or purchase depending on individual circumstance/somenoticeable events surrounding these arrivals

Suisun City, California is a city located in Contra Costa County, California. The population was 115,827 at the 2010 census. It is the largest city in the San Francisco Bay Area and one of the most populous cities in Northern California. The origins of Suisun City date back to 1875 when it was named for Captain George Augustus Suisun and his family who had settled on land east of what is now downtown Suisun City. In 1885, John Laird bought part of the original Rancho Cucamonga grant from Juan Bautista Alvarado and named it after his wife's maternal grandfather, Captain George Augustus Suisun. The first buildings in town were built byLaird and his family until 1901 when they sold their share to Domingo Ramos y Mendoza who then donated it to the city for use as a hospital. In 1912, Mayor Antonio Moreno authorized construction of a water main that would bring water from Northridge Reservoir northwest to town through an open trench about 2 feet deep and 4 feet wide which was completed in 1913. By 1915,Suisun had become an established community with a post office, hotel (the Crystal Palace), two banks ( First National Bank & Trust Company and Merchants National Bank), four churches (Methodist Episcopal Church & Presbyterian Church), three schools (Plymouth School District #1-1911-1914;Northridge School District #1 1916;Southridge School District #2 1917) and six businesses including two wineries (ACI Wineries Incorporated 1917-1920) before World War I destroyed much of downtown business activity due to destruction caused by war duty shortages. After the war ended there were steady growth until 1970 when oil prices started declining making jobs scarce in comparison with other major American cities during this time. In 1973 Supervisor Don Webb proposed annexing unincorporated areas around Southpoint Mall intoSuisun so that businesses could locate closer to Muni service stations but no vote was taken on annexation until 1978 which resulted in increased traffic problems accessing services such as garbage collection or taxi cabs because these areas were still considered annexed neighborhoods without voting rights like those around Southpoint Mall which continued being used for business purposes despite not having any zoning changes since then even though many residents wanted them gone because they felt that they encroached on their residential properties along with creating more pollution from large commercial developments near Muni stops rather than providing safe streets for pedestrians or bike commuters). In 1993 Supervisor Don Webb voted against annexing Unincorporated Areas around Southpoint Mall intoSuisun because he felt that this would create more traffic problems accessing services such as garbage collection or taxi cabs because these areas were still considered annexed neighborhoods without voting rights like those around Southpoint Mall which continued being used for business purposes despite not having any zoning changes since then even though many residents wanted them gone because they felt that they encroached on their residential properties along with creating more pollution from large commercial developments near Muni stops rather than providing safe streets for pedestrians or bike commuters). A 2006 referendum proposing annexation Measure B – Appointing A Citizen Committee To Review How The City Should expands its boundaries met with resistance among some neighborhood groups who argue that annexing Willoughby Glen would increase development outside of town while diminishing property values inside town resulting in less access to taxpayer funded services within Town limits while potentially worsening air quality inside city limits due to increased emissions from nearby industrial facilities). In December 2009 supervisors adopted Resolution No. 3-09 announcing plans to annex unincorporated areas surrounding Southpoint Mall intoSuissuncity but once again no vote took place on annexation pending further study prior to implementation due to opposition voiced by some neighborhood groups who feelthatnexemptionswouldincreasetrafficproblemsaccessstovacationfacilitieswhileweakeningairqualityinsidecitylimitsduetoincreasesemissionsfrom nearbyindustrialfacilities). Suisun City is a city in Suisun County, California, United States. The population was 24,556 at the 2010 census. The city lies on the east side of San Francisco Bay and is part of the San Francisco metropolitan area. It is named after the Suisun Bay which forms its eastern border. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Suisun City were traders working out of Monterey in 1849-50. They called it "Nipomo" because there was no post office then and they had to send reports back by runner or ship as far as Nipomo on Mono Lake before coming back with goods. A Mission Ranch mission was established here in 1851-52 by Father José Gomez and Father Fernando de Noriega. On February 14, 1860, during the American Civil War, Confederate General James Shields defeated Union General Ulysses S. Grant at Palo Alto Bridge outside of Suisun City while under cover of darkness; this event helped start Silicon Valley's electronics industry. The town only came into being when new land was acquired from succession laws following World War II for military housing development near Fort Point Naval Station (now part of Pacifica). During World War II most people living within 1 mile (1 km) of Pearl Harbor worked for Navy construction projects that took place all over the bayarea including Fremont, Newark and San Francisco; so little was left after Pearl Harbor that an agreement had been made between local businesses and developers to sell off any surplus acreage not needed for war purposes within 10 years - something that still applies today to some extent due to naval activity taking place nearby such as Alcatraz Island which has been occupied by Marines since 1937

The city is located on the Suisun Peninsula, a long peninsula that forms the eastern border of San Francisco Bay.
