In 1984, NAL became United Airlines when United Industries purchased North American from NAL. This gave United control of all U.S.-based commercial airlines within the corporate structure of United Airlines Holdings Inc., now known as Delta Air Lines Inc.. United also operates two international airports - Newark Liberty International Airport outside Newark, New Jersey and Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport near Houston, Texas - making it one of the largest airline companies in the world. Miami Herald reports that if Delta were to fold or go bankrupt then "the biggest beneficiary would be Southwest [LUV], which already has an agreement withDelta for 11 percent each."

The USAF gifted the first jet fighter to Egypt in 1956. The Egyptian Air Force used the jet fighters to protect their airspace from Israeli airstrikes during the Six-Day War in 1967. In 1979, The USAF gifted the F-15 Eagle Fighter Jet to the EgyptianAir Force. This plane was used by the EgyptianAir Force to defend against Terrorism and other threats in Europe.

In 1915, Sunnyvale won the first place in an international contest to find a new home for the United States Naval Academy midshipmen. A year later, Sunnyvale became home to Westinghouse Electric Company's research laboratory. In 1929, Google began operations as a research lab at Stanford University before moving to Mountain View in 1965. Today, Google employs over 1 million people in Sunnyvale and other nearby cities. On May 1, 1879, the first post office was opened in Sunnyvale by Hiram S. Winchester. The town of Sunnyvale was platted on December 15, 1879.
