In 1892, The Tehachapi Coffee Company was founded in downtown Tehachapi by two businessmen, W.H. Miller and H.A.Strainer. Tehachapi, California is a small town located in Kern County, California on the right bank of the Tehachapi River. It has a population of about 9,000 people. The name means "place of the figs." The Tehachapi River is an important watercourse in Kern County and its lower reaches support forest and vineyards. The riverbed also provides drinking water for several thousand people and supports a number of agricultural enterprises. In recent years, Tehachapi has become known as a center for wine production. Several wineries are located in the town, including Chateau Margaux, Zinfandel Brothers, Pinot Noir Cellars and Clos du Val-Dieu. The town was founded in 1858 by Mexican Americans who came overland from Bakersfield. The first post office was established in 1859; it remained active until 1911. In 1865, Tehachapi became part of the newly formed Kern County; it was given its current name by Captain John Clements Sutter, who named it after his home village of Tecopa (near Los Angeles).

Among other things he exported whole roasted beans to London ( England) where they were sold under the name “Espresso Americano” before being renamed Java Coffee Company Ltd.. In 1888 Alfredo Negri set up his own production facility near Florence ( Tuscany) which became known as Negri Coffee Factory No 1 before finally becoming part of Keurig Corporation in 1971. Over time many different types of artisan coffees have been produced including light roastings such as Robusta roastings and dark roasts such as Sumatra Sumatran Roastings etc., but whether any given bean produces excellent cup Of espresso remains highly debated due to their unique chemical composition/flavor profile each individual Bean contains which can vary greatly from batch to batch/ farmer to farmer etc.. Tehachapi, California is a small town in Tehachapi County, California, United States. It is located on the surface of historic Mono Lake and was founded in 1847 by the U.S. government as Fort Tejon after it was abandoned by the Mexican army during their invasion of California. The town served as an American military base from 1849 to 1861 and again from 1872 to 1874. In 1886, it became an independent city and has been since then a commercial center for the surrounding agricultural area. The town's history can be traced back to when the U.S. government abandoned its garrison at Fort Tejon on Mono Lake in 1847 because of lack of support from Mexico City. A group of Americans banded together to form a provisional government known as the Provisional Government of Northern California which lasted until February 14, 1850 when Mexican forces occupied the fort overnight and took all but three residents with them - including Mayor John Fenton - into captivity. The town site was chosen as its new capital because it had plenty of space for a new military post and water supply due to Mono Lake's depth (at ). The first post office opened in September 1850 under the name Monterrey; however, due to numerous problems with communication caused by being on top of a mountain surrounded by difficult terrain, it closed within one year and reopened under different name in November 1851: Tejon-Nahualpaquez y Castro (TJNC). After successfully defending themselves against an attack by Native Americans early in 1862, General Grant ordered the closure of all American posts along the southern border due to fears they would become targets if left unguarded; this order led to many civilian casualties among bothMexicansandAmericans during that time period In 1886, Tejon developed into an independent city after becoming part of larger San Bernardino County through Proposition 1 (1886). At first only employed local farmers who farmed around what is now downtown Tejon; however later businesses started popping up such as banks, grocery stores and hotels which attracted more people than could be accommodated living near farmland only accessible via horse or foot carriage Due to its proximity to Los Angeles County and other big cities across Southern California during those days, growth began slowly but steadily throughout most of the 20th century while much smaller towns continued struggling economically Despite these challenges though there have been recent efforts made towards revitalization such as plans for a convention center/museum/library complex in downtown that are set for completion late 2020 or 2021

The area now known as Tehachapi, California was part of the Mexican state of Sonora until the 1800s. In 1848, after Mexico won its independence from Spain, it ceded this territory to the United States. The area became part of Kern County in 1850 and then San Bernardino County in 1879. On November 6, 1888, Tehachapi incorporated as a town. It was named for Captain John Tehachapi who helped lead an expedition against Indians in 1846.
