Army Gift History in Temple City, California The United States Army was founded on April 6, 1775, when George Washington and his troops took control of the city of Philadelphia during the American Revolution. The first military unit to be stationed in Temple City were the light infantry companies of Captain John Armstrong's Regiment of Light Dragoons. In 1847, General Order No. 10 directed the detachment of a battalion from Fort Point to garrison at Temple City as part of Indian Wars activities that year. The battalion continued garrisoning at Temple City until 1852 when it was replaced by Company A, 4th Infantry Regiment which arrived from San Francisco. Company A served at various posts throughout California before being disbanded in 1868 at Camp Grant near Sacramento. In 1880, the 1st Cavalry Brigade arrived in California and became attached to Departmentofthe Pacific Railroad with Headquarters located at Camp McDowell outside of Sacramento. During this time company A2 (4th Calvary) was attached and served with distinction during Battle Of Wounded Knee where they were one of two cavalry units present for the attack on May 5-6, 1890 which resulted in an engagement that ended with a massacre against Native Americans known as “Wounded Knee Massacre”. After Battle Of Wounded Knee company A2 returned home eastward via Reno Nevada then finally San Bernardino County arriving there January 14th 1893 after spending many weeks traveling through snowstorms and blizzards en route Company C (3rd Calvary) also arrived from Reno around this time providing support for 2nd brigade while their brigadier general commanded 3rd brigade out west On February 25th 1893 Major General John Pershing ordered center column division under command of Brigadier General Edwin Vail overland across Nebraska Territory towards Salt Lake Valley expecting to find hostile Indians living there he instead met hearty civilian farmers who welcomed him warmly After reaching Utah Valley he found no Indians living there but discovered several groups lurking about so he ordered them all killed without mercy thus starting what is now known as “Pershing Expedition” Although some warriors did fight engagements against US troops they generally surrendered rather than face execution or violence like those faced by their Native American counterparts

In the early 1800s, Temple City was a small town in northern San Diego County. It was located on the eastern side of the San Diego Peninsula and east of downtown San Diego. The town had a population of about 2,500 people. The first military engagement in what is now Temple City occurred on November 10, 1846 when Mexican troops under General Antonio López de Cuellar attacked American forces during the Mexican-American War. American troops drove the Mexicans back and captured two cannons and other supplies. On February 17, 1868, General Order No. 9 was issued by President Ulysses S. Grant ordering all California Militia to meet at Camp Kearny south of San Diego for drill and review. This order called for all men between the ages of 16 and 50 to assemble at that location for inspection and drill purposes only. On October 3, 1872, an event took place which would later be known as "The Day of Infamy." A group of outlaws led by Jesse James raided a wagon train carrying gold ore from Mining District #2 in central California to Stockton (now Sacramento). The bandits looted many cars and stole dozens of barrels of oil or coal worth millions of dollars at gunpoint before fleeing back into Mexico without leaving any trail behind them! This event is considered one of the most notorious robberies in California history!
Temple City is a city in Imperial County, California, United States. It was founded in 1887 by Mormon pioneers as the towns of Independence and Cedar City. The population was 31,385 at the 2010 census. The downtown area is home to the former Cottonwood Casino, which closed its doors in 2013. The first permanent settler in what would become Temple City was John C. Bennett who came overland from Utah on November 17, 1887. He named his new community after the nearby Mount Carmel Temple of God which he had seen while travelling through western Utah on his way to stake out a permanent homestead near Promontory Point LA on December 3, 1887. In 1890 Bennett donated land for a LDS temple and laid out basic requirements for town proper including streets and sidewalks, water supply and power plant – all were built by hand with local residents working together until 1903 when electric lights were added to make life easier. After many years of growth and progress little attention was given to Temple City’s Main Street until 2007 when it finally caught fire that destroyed much of the downtown core leaving only one business open in an enclosed shopping mall environment where most businesses have since closed down or moved away because of lack of parking or competition from other malls within walking distance likevariousTarget stores etc.). As mentioned earlier Temple City experienced rapid growth following its incorporation into Imperial County back in 1887 due largely to railroads coming through Needles then connecting San Diego (northwest) via Los Angeles/San Bernardino (southwest), drawing people westward along their route instead of eastward as proposed by some early settlers who saw no need for yet another town along this lengthy railway line now serving primarily Southern CaliforniansEastcoasters only! When general freight service ended around 1920 further development potential stalled largely due To World War II shortages during which much agricultural production centered around Northern California without any appreciable impact south of Interstate 5 thereby limiting access both ways making travel between these two areas difficult if not impossible especially during high traffic periods; but starting again pretty much immediately following war-time cessation things started picking up as more people began looking for opportunities hereabouts; so rapidly did things get moving again that soon there were even some new businesses popping up – most notably IHOP restaurant located just north off Main Street adjacent to Railroad tracks just east thereof becoming quite popular with locals & visitors alike! And so it goes today with limited efforts made by developers either redeveloping old Downtown cores or finding brand new locations outside the restricted boundaries set forth previously Witheld by ordinances passed back in 2007……….. Currently, business activity levels are gradually returning online & off grid althoughmuch remains undone such as sidewalk repair deficiencies leading directlyto many collapsed balconies (&eaves), deficient water main repairs leading collectivelyto numerous burst pipes (& frequent flooding), failed electrical wiring throughout “the heart”of triggersome retail spaces including several banks leadenlyleft unoccupied despite being well-maintained prior theretojust past 2 recent major fires—-one resultingin loss/damage totaling $200K+ total sustained thru 3 separate Calif./USMC military exercises taking place right smack dabin’ Templeshopping district……………..

Temple City is a small city in Southern California, located about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. As of the 2010 census, its population was 14,545. It is the most populous city in Orange County and one of the fastest-growing cities in Southern California. Temple City was founded on April 12, 1887 by John Wesley Powell and his wife Lucy as a Mormon settlement near what is now the town of North Hollywood. The name "Temple City" originated from a nearby Springdale mine that served as their landing point for wagon trains coming down the Santa Monica Mountains from San Francisco during Gold Rush days. In 1907, Mayor George Norris renamed it after himself as part of an official program to promote growth in Orange County through naming opportunities. In honor of President Theodore Roosevelt's visits to Orange County during his presidency (1892-1901), Norris named four parks - Roosevelt Park South, Roosevelt Park West, Irvine Park East and La Brea Tar Pits - after presidents who had been influential in Orange County history: Franklin D. Roosevelt (1909-1913), Woodrow Wilson (1920-1923), James K. Polk (1844-1846) and Taft (1915). During World War II, General Douglas MacArthur called upon local citizens to come forward with ideas for how they could help contribute to war effort through their businesses or locally housed organizations such as the Red Cross Committee or United Service League chapters; many did so voluntarily but some also enlisted in military units which specialized in providing goods and services needed by troops on overseas battlefields
The first European settlers in the area were Spanish missionaries, who arrived in 1769. The mission was destroyed by a fire in 1821 and never rebuilt. A town named Temecula formed around the mission site, but it declined in popularity after becoming a dry and dusty outpost. In 1848, gold was discovered near Temecula and interest grew in the find. A mill was built on the stream that ran through the town, and soon there were enough people to start their own businesses.Temecula became an important center for both mining and agricultural production during its early years. In 1870, however, a severe drought caused much crop loss; this led to increased calls for water resources from the government. In 1912, Temecula incorporated as a city under state law. It remained an unincorporated community until 1959 when it became part of California's City of Industry District No. 1 pursuant to Proposition 65 of that year. A large shopping mall called The Grove opened up in Temecula in 1986 and quickly became one of Southern California's most popular malls; it continues to be one of the largest shopping centers in North America today.
