Temple City Starbucks began in 1984 as a small coffee shop on the corner of Elm and Universal Streets in Temple City. The shop was run by a husband-and-wife team, Tim and Tamiko Ziegler, until they divorced in 1991. In 2002, the couple reopened the business as an independent operation under the name of Starbucks Coffee & Tea. The store's first location was on Grand Avenue in Temple City. In 2009, Starbucks opened its current location at 9333 W 15th Street in Temecula, California. In 2013, Starbucks announced that it would open two additional stores - one inside the Staples Center near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and another located near Disneyland Resort (DIS). The new locations were part of a larger expansion plan which saw the company open over 350 cafes worldwide by 2018.
Temple City is a small city in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 120,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the South Central Los Angeles region. Temple City is known for its historic architecture and for its location on the eastern edge of downtown Los Angeles. The first settlement in what is now Temple City was founded by Mormon pioneers in 1847 and named Harmony. In 1865, Mormon missionaries Second Ward settled there and renamed it "Temple City". The name changed again to Temple in 1892 when the city purchased land from John Sutter. The total area served as a cemetery until 1923 when all graves were moved to Hollywood Cemetery. The city's growth began with the construction of the now-demolished First National Bank Building in 1922 which became one of downtown's most popular tourist attractions. A second bank building was built next door but it failed within two years and was replaced by a movie theater which also failed within two years. A major development occurred with the opening of Western Union Telegraph Company's Telegraph Station (now Western Union Place) on Sepulveda Boulevard near East Valley Boulevard in 1928 which led to increased communication between different parts of Southern California and helped spur economic development around that time period. In 1951, Temples new mayor Harry Jaffe created an environmental committee chaired by then-mayor Jack Clark that successfully lobbied for passage of Measure R – an anti-polluting measure that helped drive rapid growth throughout Los Angeles County during the early 21st century including Temple City itself – despite fierce opposition from powerful business interests who feared any increase in pollution would impede their profitability1 . After more than 50 years of continuous growth, Temple City experienced its first significant housing crisis due to overpopulation prior to 1990s suburbanization2 . This prompted Mayor Tom Bradley to sign legislation creating zoning regulations limiting weekend nightlife activity and commercial development along Main Street so that people could still enjoy local businesses open day & night3 . After decades of steady progressivist municipal governance under Mayor Bradley’s watch, current Mayor Marty Singer has worked hard over recent year to turn around areas such as transportation infrastructure4

Temple City, California is a city located in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 100,632 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Bernardino–Riverside metropolitan area. The name comes from the nearby Temescal Mountains and Valley. Temple City was founded in 1881 by James Elam andwife Lucy Temple as a small farming town on the edge of what is now downtown Los Angeles. In 1905, entrepreneur Edward Fenton bought land near Temescal Canyon for $1 million and founded Fenton Oil Company to exploit oil reserves discovered there during the early 1900s. In 1916, Fenton sold his holdings to Texas Pacific Railway for $5 million and moved his company headquarters from Los Angeles toTemple City. By 1923, Temple City had become one of Southern California's largest oil towns with over 100 businesses and 350 residents—nearly all of whom worked at Fenton Oil or its successor companies. During World War II, much of southern Kern County was used for military training Camp Carson (later known as Dodson Air Force Base). As a result of this activity, many homes were built near Camp Carson which became known as "The Hill". Today many people still live close to where their troops trained during World War II including several families who maintain an active home-base campground called "The Dogleg" just outside of town off exit 123A off I-15
