National Guard units have been present in Temple City since the early 1920s. In 1923, the first National Guard unit was organized in the city and it was known as the "Temple City Volunteer Infantry" (TCVI). The TCVI served for two years and disbanded in 1925. In 1927, the city of Temple City activated its own National Guard unit which was called the "Temple City Reserve Unit". This unit did not serve for long however, because it was disbanded by 1928. In 1932, a second National Guard unit was organized in Temple City and it became known as the "Golden State Guards". The GSG served for one year before disbanding in 1933. In 1935, a third National Guard unit was organized in Temple City and it became known as the "Athletic County Guards". This unit served for four years before disbanding in 1937. In 1938, a fourth National Guard unit was organized in Temple City and it became known as the "National guards of California ". Thisunit served until 1945 when it disbanded due to World War II. During World War II, there were also five additional National Guard units stationed in Temple City: two battalions of cavalry (the 1st Cavalry Regiment and 2nd Cavalry Regiment), one battalion of artillery (3rd Artillery Regiment), six companies of infantry (4th Infantry Battalion/9th Infantry Company), one company of tanks (2nd Tank Battalion/7th Armored Company) and three squadrons of fighter aircraft including two Spitfires (No. 601 Squadron RAF) flown from Little Rock AFB Arkansas.* * These units were all activated with patriotic fervor but never completed their activation or deployment due to various reasons such as manpower shortages or mobilization orders instead*

The California National Guard was founded on November 30, 1849 in Sacramento. The first unit was organized at Fort Point in San Francisco. The Guards were called the "City Battalion" because they patrolled and guarded the City of Sacramento. The Guards were also used to suppress riots and as a militia for law enforcement purposes. In 1861, Captain James W. Marshall of the 9th Infantry Regiment donated his regiment's sword to the California National Guard, which became known as the Marshall Regiment. On October 1, 1912, Governor John P. Hennessey signed into law an act authorizing the creation of a state guard department within the State Department of Public Safety. On January 1, 1913, that department was renamed the California National Guard Bureau with Brigadier General Franklin Denny as its first Director-General. Governor Earl Warren ordered all units of the California National Guard to be mobilized on December 14, 1942 pursuant to President Roosevelt's Executive Order No. 9066 which called for all military forces in America to be activated for war against Japan.(1) (2) (3)
Temple City, California is located in the southern portion of Los Angeles County and is bordered by Carson to the east and north, Compton to the west and south, and Inglewood to the east. The population was 2,853 at the 2010 census. The city was founded in 1887 by Mormons who had come from Utah. It became a thriving agricultural center with many farms that were used for growing corn, beans, cotton, oats, hay and other vegetables. After World War II bombing raids destroyed much of downtown Temple City as well as many homes and businesses in central streets such as Main Street (now Flowery Branch), 116th Street (Now Hollywood Boulevard) and Vine Avenue (Now Universal Boulevard), local farmers took up arms against the bombers. They built towering fences around their properties while they grew crops around their own homes. Today large blocks of central streets are still rural with few buildings on them; most residents are employed outside of town or within minutes walking of their workplaces. The Apple Inc., Googleplexes along I-5 & Ventura Blvd., Staples Center - home of Lakers & Kings basketball games - movie theaters - casinos - all have contributed greatly to Temple City's growth over time. In recent years new development has taken hold including a number of high-end apartments near Staples Center which have helped increase job opportunities for locals not only during NBA seasons but also throughout the year when events like CES or Comic-Con take place in nearby Pasadena or Long Beach

Despite these controversies, the National Guard remains one of America's most popular institutions. Over 150 million people have served in it since it was first created, and it is now one of the largest military forces in the United States ― dwarfing both the Army and Navy alone. The National Guard is also seen as an invaluable resource by local governments; thanks to its impressive manpower pool and wide-ranging training capabilities, they can call on it for anything from policing purposes to helping with infrastructure projects. So why did this powerful institution fall out of favor over recent decades? One answer may be that many people no longer see it as an essential part of national security or public safety anymore ― instead they view it primarily as a source of entertainment or pleasure! This lack of appreciation may be due in part to modern technology being able to provide more timely and accurate reports on troop movements than ever before, but also because many people no longer believe that soldiers who are not actually fighting should be given free rein to use whatever means necessary � including violence� within their own communities!

Temple City, California is a small city located in Kern County, California. The population was 7,828 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bakersfield metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1887 by Mormon pioneers and named after The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' own temple in England. The Mormons had left Nauvoo, Illinoiseight years earlier to establish their new home in what is now Utah Territory. They began building the temple here in 1887 and it was dedicated on October 25, 1888. By 1910, the population had increased to 10,000 and growth continued until 1949 when it reached its present size of 7,828 residents. The city's early history can be traced back to 1867 when two men named George Wittman and John Hinkle bought land comprising present-day Temple City from José Antonio Nunez for $1 cash plus 10 acres (4 ha) of ground leased for agriculture and other purposes. In 1870 they erected a short log cabin onsite as their first business venture; however this structure did not last long due to fire damage sustained in a nearby brushfire that same year. In 1876 another group of Mormons arrive from Utah with members Isaac Sitton and Sidney Rigdon aboard the steamboat "Polynesia". After disembarking they set out for Palmdale but quickly realized that there were no residents or businesses near enough to warrant settlement so they elected to return home without making any permanent arrangements. In 1880 John Caird purchased 640 acres (248 ha) around what is now downtown Temple City from Mexican rancher Manuel Alemán for $6 per acre ($2/ha). This would eventually become known as South Valley Rancho which became part of TempleCity proper upon Caird's death in 1912. With over 12 miles (19 km) worth of roads designated as public streets within his Rancho Rincon de San Joaquin he had significant clout within local government circles which helped him achieve success later on when he donated much land including portions of South Valley Rancho to the city for use as open space including today's Downtown Temple City neighborhood . However even before coming into his own Caird exerted an influence well beyond his borders through donations made both directly and indirectly to various civic organizations such as the First Methodist Church (now Cathedral United Methodist Church), Kern Agricultural College, etc.; all while continuing nurturing relationships with close friends like banker William Mulholland who financed most of Caird's activities via loansed money rather than gifts or capital investments . During World War I Fife & Stewart landed at Port Huenemeouselaward Beach on September 26th 1915 with passengers consisting mostly American troops embarked on USS Brooklyn SSR under command Lt Commander Averill Harcourt USNRF commanding officer Capt Arthur Wills USNRF searchlights tender USS OlympiaSSRN also among those embarked were Reginald Fenton USNVRF member & son Wesley Fenton USNVRF both future mayors OF West Covina , CA during prohibition days following WWI hostilities ended In 1919 these sons united forces thru marriage forming consolidated firm called Fenton-Wills & Company real estate developers . Since then many others have joined them including current Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Wangenthal
