This Ammo Storage Area is significant because it is one of only a few such areas left in the United States that still use this type of storage. In addition to its importance as an ammo store, the Ammo Storage Area also serves as a museum today which tells the story of how the Navy has maintained this facility for so many years. Temple City is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 17,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area and is home to the Temple University campus. The first permanent settler in what would become Temple City was George Eastman, who bought lands north ofpresent-day Temple City from the Shoshone Tribe in 1827. In 1853, A.B. West founded a small town on land east of present-day Temple City to serve as a crossroads for travelers travelling between Southern California and Nevada. This settlement was named Westville after A.B.'s father, William WestphalenWestcott (1812–1892). In 1864, John D'Anello founded Anello Agricultural Station on land east of present day Temple City and named it after himself; this station served as an early commercial center for the region due to its location near two major wagon roads: State Route 66 and Interstate 15. The first post office called Anello was established in 1865; it remained open until 1930. In 1870, Chico Canyon Railroad was built through central San Bernardino County by Jethro Sullivant; this railroad connected Temecula with Redlands and other parts of southern California via temecula Summit Road (now known as Pioneer Boulevard). Sometime before 1893 there were six Methodist churches located within sight of each other in what is now Northeast Philadelphia Cemetery off Pulaski Street NE., opposite Green Valley Baptist Church across SR 190 From 1895 until 1899 there were also three Roman Catholic Churches located within sight of each other northeast corner First Avenue & Shrine Drive NW., adjacent to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church which operated from 1890 until 1909 At about this time most people living within 5 miles or so west of downtown had no choice but to join one or more denominations regardless of their religious beliefs In 1900 only one ProtestantChurch remained - Emanuel United Methodist Church located just west side First Avenue & Northwest Expressway SW., adjoiningGood Shepherd Lutheran Church On May 3 1905 Rev Wm Copley became Pastor new church erected circa 1907 moved into current location today After World War I when Temecula became increasingly rural popular demand for better transportation ledtothe constructionof numerous highways including I-15 reaching here by 1923rdowntownTemeculawas almost entirely bypassed by motorists traveling down SR 190 however templecitystill has many businesses that rely heavily onI-15 traffic
