Gourmet Coffee started out supplying the local coffee shop scene with high-quality beans from their own roastery. The company quickly became known for its innovative and delicious coffee products, which were often exported to other regions around the world. In 1992, Gourmet Coffee merged with another small coffee company, Starbucks, making it one of the largest coffee companies in the world. Today, Gourmet Coffee continues to produce some of the most popular and iconic coffee products in the industry such as their popular Robusto blend and Decaf spinal decaf.

Tracy, California is a small town located in the Mono County seat of Sierra County. The population was 1,832 at the 2010 census. Tracy is home to a state park and the Mono National Forest. The town was founded in 1876 by Mormon settlers who were looking for land to build their own church rancho. The first post office was established in Tracy on July 25, 1876. Tracy's first store opened in 1877. In 1903, the Post Office moved from its original location to what is now Main Street. In 1916, Tracy became one of 16 townships within Mono County and it was named after Lieutenant Colonel John Tipton Tracy (1846-1927). Lt Col. Tracy had been an officer with Company C Ninth Infantry Regiment during World War I and later served as mayor of Winslow from 1922-1924 and 1926-1928; he also served as Commissioner of Public Works for Mono County from 1927 until his death in 1927. In 1935, when California became an independent country, Tracy became part of that country as did most other localities within Mono County except for Orinda which continued to be part of California until 1959 when that county merged into Sacramento County. On October 10, 1961, after years of effort by the City Council and citizens alike, the city landmark "Tiny House" downtown replaced a dilapidated building which stood on Main Street since 1906 (the year before Tracy's incorporation). That same year saw the dedication of both a new high school (now Foothill High School) and an enlarged recreation center adjacent to town hall located off Main Street on what is now Pacific Boulevard just east of Ulysses S Grant Parkway (then known as SR 91) adjacent to Highway 395 north/south between El Dorado Hills northeast (later incorporated into Irvine) and Menlo Park northwest (later incorporated into Palo Alto). At that time it was estimated that there were only 5 or 6 hundred residents living in Tracy proper while over seventy thousand people lived within Sierra Counties including: Elk Grove Village; Livermore; Redwood City; Novato; Fremont; Woodland Hills
