It also has a number of football stadiums including the old Raley Field which seats 30,000 people and new Levi's Stadium which seats up to 80,000 people. The city is also known for its annual Cherry Blossom Festival which attracts millions of tourists each year.

The city reached its peak population during World War II with over 100,000 residents; however, the war led toitive decline in population and revenue beginning in the early 1950s. The last mayoralty saw an increase in property values but no growth in population due to denigration from the city after the war ended.
