The Coast Guard has been in Tulare, California since 1851. The first coast guard station was established at the mouth of the Sacramento River in 1852. In 1916, the present coast guard station was constructed onshore and is still used today. The Coast Guard Auxiliary began operating in Tulare in 1922. Today, there are over 100 Auxiliary members who support the Coast Guard through a variety of activities including enforcement, public safety, search and rescue, and education. In 1954, the Coast Guard Station San Buenaventura opened as a replacement for an aging lighthouse on Point Reyes Light House Hill. It is still used to this day as a Coast Guard station with offices and barracks for auxiliar members. In 1999, a new $24 million hangar was built on land adjacent to the old lighthouse that serves as the headquarters for both auxiliary units and command staff for all CG missions throughout Northern California. In addition to its traditional duties of enforcing maritime law and providing humanitarian assistance during natural disasters such as earthquakes or fires, CG also conducts many other vital operations including air transportation control systems (ATC), water patrol patrols along coastlinelines across Northern California’s 41 counties- more than 1120 miles long-and maintains more than 2200 emergency response vehicles statewide

Tulare, California is located in the Central Valley of California. The population was 25,833 at the 2010 census. Tulare has a history dating back to 1821 when it was part of Rancho Los Andes. The name means "humble place." In 1848, John C. Fremont established the towns of Newark and Sacramento, both in what is now Tulare County. Fremont named these towns after his explorations in Northern California during the Gold Rush era. In 1849, he founded Fresno and Chico as well. These towns were also named after his explorations. The first permanent white settlers in Tulare County were James Irvine and George Barker who arrived in 1851 from San Francisco Bay Area. They founded Irvineville on a site that is now Soquel and built a small cabin there before moving eastward into present-day Kern County and then south to Imperial County where they opened up new land for settlement. By 1860, there were over 100 families living in Tulare County with about 60 businesses and 400 residents. The discovery of gold on December 24, 1858 by prospectors led to an influx of miners into Tulare County which started immediately but slowed down as transportation became available only for those who could afford expensive boats or wagons Differences between rich (Rancho) Californians who had access to everything such as shipping containers full of foreign silver ore compared to poor (non-richer) citizens contributed greatly to the polarization of society along socio-economic lines known as the “Great American River Compact” Years later potash mining began operations northeast of downtown Fresno which caused an increase demand for water supplies needed for crops while contributing significantly to growth rates throughout central valley communities south and southwest of downtown Fresno This increased demand also stimulated construction efforts at numerous industrial sites providing jobs for local men including many farmers whose products supported these factories Additionally several large canal projects brought about enormous improvements not just within municipal boundaries but also far beyond – improving irrigation systems connecting vast agricultural areas with marketplaces; increasing trade with other Western states; creating opportunities for travel throughout America In 1865 President Abraham Lincoln signed legislation authorizing statehood for California With this change came increased opportunities for economic development outsideof specific municipalities although some continue today experiencing dominance by non-local interests detrimental effects have been seen particularly around suburban sprawl patterns related primarily to job loss via automation

From its humble beginnings as a small group of volunteers in 1790, the Coast Guard has grown into one of America’s most trusted and effective National Security Agencies. The Coast Guard ethos is “to help preserve our country's way of life by protecting maritime interests and promoting maritime safety.” The Coast Guard gift history begins with the development of mariners’ watches in 1839. At that time, there was no national security apparatus like the Coast Guard, and watch development was an important part of coastal defense. In 1854, Congress passed an act which established the United States Revenue Cutter Service (USRC). The USRC was tasked with patrolling America's coastline and enforcing laws related to customs and shipping. As time went on, other branches were created within the Coast Guard such as Search and Rescue (SAR), Boating Safety Patrol (BSP), Coastal Defense Command (CDC), Mine Warfare Squadron ONE (MWS ONE), Aviation Regiment One (AR1) & two Helicopter Squadrons- HH-60 Black Hawk & MH-65 Eagle-. In 1957, Congress reauthorized appropriations for the NOAA Corps which consisted of both merchant navy assets seized by ICE during law enforcement operations as well as military personnel assigned to provide airlift support for NOAA scientists performing research on land or at sea

Tulare, California was founded in 1853 as a mining town on the Tulare River. The town grew rapidly due to its rich gold and silver deposits and became an important center for the agricultural industry. In 1915, Tulare became an incorporated city. The city is known for its traditional architecture, including the Mission Revival style of buildings and the large green lawns that dominate much of downtown. Tulare also has a strong manufacturing sector, with many businesses located in the downtown area.
The earliest known European settlement in Tulare County was by Spanish padres in 1769. The area was part of the Franciscan missions San Francisco de Assisitlán and Mission Santa Cruz del Valle. A group of Englishmen, led by Captain James Cook, reached the Tulare basin during his exploration of California in 1777. In 1821, a mission was established at Mariposa near present-day Fresno, which grew into a thriving town. The county seat moved to Visalia from Mariposa in 1853.
