The U.S. Coast Guard has been providing law enforcement and support to the people of Turlock since 1879. In 1925, the Coast Guard established the present day Turlock Coast Guard Station in honor of Capt. Arthur C. Cline, who served as Commandant of the Coast Guard from 1924-1927 and was later awarded a Congressional Gold Medal for his service. The station became a full-time Coast Guard Station on February 1, 1939 following the passage of Public Law 95-468 which merged the California coast guard with the United States coast guard. In 1951, Captain James J Fenton assumed command of the station and changed its name to Coast Guardside Station after purchasing land at Point Reyes National Seashore in Marin County for use as a shoreline security post. As part of this change in name, Headquarters moved from San Francisco to Point Reyes where it remains today. In 1969, Captain John A Healy became commandant and continued making changes at stations along California's Central Valley coastline including expanding patrols into winter months; increasing helicopter capabilities; increased work hours during summer months; developed new technology such as radar/light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system; installation of weatherproofing on maritime vessels; establishment of an environmental monitoring center with automatic data collection capabilities.; created a freshwater fishing program that resulted in more than 20 thousand pounds being caught by local fishermen.; established special operations units such as Search Andrescue Squadron (SARS), Special Boat Unit (SBU), Helicopter Maritime Strike Group Three (HSG3), and Air Force Reserve Search Andrescue Squadron One Hundred Fifty Five (ASARSoc1). After many years under Captain Healy’s leadership, Headquarters relocated back to San Francisco in 1997 when Commandant David P Kapp took over from him.] Since 2000, Commander Gregory E Wessels has led Coast Guardside Station turlock through many changes including expanded alcoholic sales restrictions due to global warming fears; positioned USCGC(L)H46(P)V2 cruisers permanently assigned to patrol area offshore;; development of new technologies like autonomous underwater vehicles;} installation of LED lighting atop NMFS boats;; expansion into winter months with increased staffing levels during non-peak hours;}creation/update/maintaining website content.] Captain Gregory E Wessels is currently commanding officer at USCG Point Reyes Lighthouse Station #1 located offshore from Point Reyes National Seashore in Marin County CA..USCG PtRls#1 is responsible for patrolling California's Central Valley coastline., conducting fisheries research & management,,,, installing weatherproofing on marine vessels,,,, creating & maintaining website content.......

The Coast Guard gift history in Turlock, California began with Captain John M. Davenport on December 15, 1912. He was the first Coast Guard officer to be stationed in Turlock and he served as the commanding officer from 1912-1915. In 1915, Captain Harry L. Atwater took command of the Turlock Station and he remained in that position until 1949 when he was replaced by Lieutenant Commander H.C. Golightly Jr.. From 1951-1958, Lieutenant Commander Tom Fenton led the station and then from 1958-1967 Lieutenant Commander Clifford J. Smith was in command.Lieutenant Commander Smith left the station on July 1, 1967 and Commodore Randal W. Heineman assumed command on July 2, 1967 until his retirement on November 1, 1971. Commodore Heineman served as Commandant at Coast Guard Base Camp Pendleton from 1971-1972 before retiring effective November 1st at age 78 years old. Turlock, California is a city in and the county seat of Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 73,813 at the 2010 census. It is located on U.S. Route 101 east of Los Angeles and south of Orange County. The history of Turlock began with José María Escobar and his family who settled in what is now Turlock in 1847. In 1875, Wm Higginson acquired a Rancho San Luis Rey from Manuel Nieto for $2,500 cash which included the village of today's Turlock. In 1896, Gussie Fenton established an agricultural co-operative known as Fresno No More to help increase production of corn and other vegetables near the then small town of Fresno. In 1922, when eastern Riverside County was organized into three parts – Northridge (later part of Los Angeles), Echo Park (later part of Irvine) and Jurupa Valley (now Corona) – Turlock became its third incorporated municipality; it had been unincorporated since 1876 when it detached from what was then Modoc County to become a separate Indian reservation community named Eureka/Lassen Hills/Pleasanton Hills within Jurupa Valley boundaries. After annexation by Los Angeles in 1932, the population grew rapidly due to new industrial development at nearby Pico Rivera Naval Base during World War II; however most growth stopped after 1945 because so many people left military service or were discharged because they could no longer work onthen high-paying jobs near LAX airport due to newly implemented anti-union policies by Presidencia Eleanor Roosevelt's New Deal administration

Turlock, California is a small town located in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 2,848 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metropolitan area. Turlock History Turlock was founded by Mormons in 1851 as a mission station on Rancho Cucamonga's eastern edge. In 1854 it became an offshoot of Oroville and renamed for Major General George Armstrong Custer during his visit to California. After Mexican independence from Spain in1848, settlers began arriving from Southern California and elsewhere to occupy the area around present-day Turlock. The first post office opened in 1861; it was called "Cottonwood." A sawmill built in 1865 became the first cotton mill on the Central Coast of America. In 1872, John Sutter organized what would become known as the Sutter Adobe Company, which built a timber frame adobe building on Main Street that remains today as one of downtown Turlock's landmarks. At its peak production (1910), the company employed 175 people and processed 4 million board feet of lumber each year. In 1918, when World War I broke out, local men volunteered for military service and were given land east of town for their barracks and other purposes; this land later became campus extension for UCLA campuses south of Interstate 10 outside of town boundaries until 1965 when they moved into new buildings on West Campus within city limits once again becoming part of Turlock City Limits jurisdiction only after annexation by Riverside County occurred When Irwindale Union High School opened in 1927 – at which time all high schools annexed into city limits – all students living within city limits attendedIrwindale Union High School while students living beyond city limits attended either Mar Vista or Valencia High Schools . civic organizations were formed such as: The Optimist Club (founded 1886), The Rotary Club (founded 1912), The Unity Club (founded 1916), American Legion Post #2 (established 1915) There are also several churches including Christ Episcopal Cathedral which dates back to 1868 ; Stonington Methodist Church which operated from 1908 - 1959 ; First Baptist Church operated from 1906 - 1957 ; Gothic Revival style additions to both Christ Episcopal Cathedral and First Baptist Church were completed between 1932-1933 ); both have been listed on the National Register Of Historic Places since 1978 . In 1942 there was an air raid against Japanese forces stationed at Twentynine Palms Field near Los Angeles that caused extensive damage throughout downtown with over 50% loss of business including many homesThe insurance companies paid most damages resulting in $225 thousand being recovered For years following WWII downtown businesses thrived despite heavy postwar bombing but then declined starting about 1970 due to increased competition from development along Interstate 10 north and east; however some recent revitalization efforts have returned downtown businesses to prewar levels Some architecturally significant buildings include: Christ Episcopal Cathedral (1868); First Baptist Church (1906 - 1957); Gothic Revival style additions to both Christ Episcopal Cathedral and First BaptistChurch were completed between 1932-1933 ); both have been listed onthe National Register Of Historic Places since 1978
