Daley later traveled back to Turlock to sell his shotguns at various events throughout the years until he sold his business interests and retired in 1978. Turlock is a small town located in north-central California. The population was 3,878 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Fresno metropolitan area. The first European to visit Turlock was Gaspar de Portolà, who named it "Turlock" in 1769 after his travels through the area. In 1824, José Castro founded a Mission San Francisco de Turlock which remained active until 1868. The mission was lost during the American Civil War but its ruins still remain today. In 1872, Don Pedro García and his brother Héctor founded the Asociación Nacional de Agricultores (National Association of Agriculturalists) in Turlock with the intent of raising money for general agricultural purposes throughout California. The association continued to exist until 1915 when it merged into the United Farm Workers (UFW). A post office called Turlock has been in operation since 1850. In 1928, an electric light company established a power plant on Coyote Creek adjacent to what is now Rancho Seco State Park and began generating electricity for use by local residents. At that time, most of this land became part of private property owned by individuals and businesses within town limits while some portions were annexed by other towns or rural areas outside of town limits over time. Today much of what used to be rancho Seco State Park is open space managed by state and federal agencies as part of Yosemite National Park; however, remnants of Electric Light Company's plant including foundations and sheds are still visible near portions of Coyote Creek Parkway south of Highway 395 (Old Route 66). Turlock has experienced various industrial developments including brick kilns from 1916-1920; shoe manufacturing from 1922-1934; aluminum production from 1945-1948; oil refineries from 1951-1955; food processing plants from 1965-1973; semiconductor production beginning in 1974 and ending in 1984; CAFOs starting around 1990 These days there are few if any permanent jobs available outside agriculture although turlock does have some motel/motel employment along Airport Boulevard which provides access to Interstate 5

Turlock is a small town in the Inyo County, California, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is located on the east side of Mono Lake. Turlock began as an agricultural town that grew fruits and vegetables for local markets. The first post office was established in 1872. By 1903, the town had become an important railroad junction due to its location on Union Pacific Railroad mainline between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The name changed to Turlock in 1907 following incorporation as a village by City of Lathrop residents with a vote of 2-to-1. The Turlock Manufacturing Company (TMC) was founded here in 1922 by Clarence Sennett and his brother Harry Sennett as a machine tool manufacturer with plants at Redding and Chico; but it soon became apparent that TMC could not keep up with production demands from American war industries such as Jeep manufacturing plants overseas or airplane parts made in Japan. After World War II, TMC turned its attention back to machine tools and ceased operations in 1951; but it left an indelible mark on Turlock through its contributions to community development including civic clubs, amateur radio service, educational institutions (e.g., Blackhawk Elementary School), arts & culture (e.g., Symphony Hall), and special events (e.g., Christmas trees). Today’s Turlock is home to many businesses including Apple Inc.'s headquarters complex which opened in October 2012; Costco Wholesale's large discount department store located adjacent to IHOP; M&M’s Candy USA Headquarters building just across from Safeway; Kaiser Aluminum Co.; Live Oak Coffee Roasters - one of Northern California's first roasting companies - serving up fresh roasted coffee every day since 2004; Bella Pizza & Pasta - Italian Restaurant - started serving pizza late last year providing convenient food delivery right to your door; Luchresi Bros.' liquors store which specializes exclusively in hard seltzer wines
Turlock was founded in 1848 by George Turlock and named after him. The town's first post office was established in 1850. In 1865, the state of California granted it a town charter. It became an incorporated city in 1893.
