The United States Air Force Deployed Gift History in Twentynine Palms, California on November 5th, 2017. The event took place at the Twentynine Palms Resort and Casino. The USAF deployed a detachment of Nellis Air Force Base's Blue Angels Flight Team to fly over the celebration. The Blue Angels are a professional airline aviation team that flies its aircraft during air shows across the United States and Canada. They were first introduced to the public in 1957 when they flew over Reno, Nevada for President Eisenhower's inauguration. In 1992, they made their first tour of Japan. Their latest visit was in May of 2017 and came to celebrate Japan's 70th anniversary as a country. This deployment is part of an ongoing tradition for the USAF which also includes sending detachments to Hawaii for Christmas Parties and other events throughout the year. Each year, there are different aircraft types used for this type of deployment including fighter jets, helicopters, bombers, and cargo planes.

Twentynine Palms is located in the Mojave Desert of California, approximately 120 miles east of Los Angeles. The city was founded in 1947 by Hollywood film producer David O. Selznick and his wife, Jessica Selznick, on a small lot near Interstate 10. The area now known as Twentynine Palms was originally part of Palm Springs. After years of development and growth, the City of Twentynine Palms officially became a city in 1959. In 1969, billionaire Richard Branson purchased 6 square miles (14 km2) of land adjacent to the City of Twentynine Palms for $1 million dollars. Today, this property houses various businesses and residences including Virgin Galactic Airways which has its headquarters here. Other major employers in the town include Lockheed Martin Marietta Headquarters (a manufacturer of fighter jets), Qualcomm Incorporated's Santa Clara Valley headquarters (the largest technology company headquartered within California), SolarCity Corporation's battery plant and other downtown businesses such as Starbucks Coffee and Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants. There are also several smaller businesses scattered throughout the community that contribute to its unique culture and atmosphere. The climate here is hot but temperate year-round with average temperatures ranging from 66 degrees Fahrenheit (−10 degrees Celsius) during summer to 44 degrees Fahrenheit (−9 degrees Celsius) during winter; however it can reach up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius) or more during extreme weather events such as heat waves or thunderstorms! In addition to its high temperature range,Twentynine Palms offers significant rainfall totals making it one of the most rain-prone cities in North America!
