The Upland Army deployed in 1944. The unit was organized on December 1, 1943 and activated on June 6th of that year. They served in the California Theater of Operations during World War II. On December 12, 1945, the Upland Army was disbanded and its members were absorbed into other units.
Upland, California is a small town located in the East Bay region of San Francisco. The population was 9,825 at the 2010 census. The first Europeans to settle in what is now Upland were prospectors from Missouri and Illinois who struck gold in 1848. In 1851, John C. Fremont established the first post office in what is now Upland with the name of Pahrump Valley. In 1863, surveyors named it after Sir George Stephenson’s Rancho San Francisquito, which had been abandoned by its original owners near present-day Martinez. The discovery of oil rich shale beds along Interstate 80 led to a boom in business and development around Upland over the next several decades as businesses such as ChevronTexaco (now ExxonMobil), Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E), and Hewlett-Packard built homes and towns on former oil leases or developed surface water production wells for irrigation purposes. The military presence during World War II contributed to increased development around Upland including an airfield that became known as “the GI home airport” due to its importance for supplying fighter planes with fuel and parts during the war; a munitions plant that manufactured explosives used by Allied forces; an ammunition depot that stored supplies for combat troops during World War II; and a tank factory manufacturing tanks for both Japan and America during the war. In 1951, local citizens approved plans by city officials to extend Clifton Road eastward from I-580 past present-day Upland into agricultural areas adjacent to their town limits. This extension would create a new community called Clifton Park which would be home to many government agencies and other businesses related to education, defense, welfare/public health/environmental protection etc., while also providing access to private land parcels within town limits for further development not previously accessible through public land ownership within town boundaries. The park was initially designed as an open space comprising about , consisting of fields extending northward towards Interstate 580 until they reached Highway 24A where they divided into two equal halves – one kept designated as parkland while the other became commercial lots housing subdivisions or other residential developments). A few years later annexed more lands beyond this eastern edge creating what is today downtown Upland with its large shopping mall complex directly across from I-580 eastbound lanes between Airport Boulevard (formerly Douglas Street) and Shafter Avenue (now Elmira Drive). As urban growth continued throughout the 1970s suburban sprawl began expanding rapidly outward from downtown towards rural areas outside of Clifton Park expansion potential was exhausted so instead developers started developing strip malls along Interstate 680 just south of Highway 24A becoming known collectively as Midtown Madness stretching all the way down Market StreetNW up Clinton Street approaching Golden Gate Bridge then continuing southward on Market StreetNE reaching Union Square before terminating at International Boulevard inside City Hall plaza today! Mall expansion continued into recent times with another major project – University Village – taking place adjacent to Interstate 680 just outside of Downtown being built over former industrial property bounded by Geary Boulevard NW, Polk Alley NE & Filbert Alley SE with approximately 1 million square feet of retail space available currently! Additionally much smaller projects like Presbyterian Church Schoolhouse Addition have been popping up all over often without any surrounding neighborhood input or involvement resulting in significant adverse impacts on nearby neighborhoods without any real apparent plan behind them aside from some select zoning changes made recently allowing larger properties closer together without proper explanation or elaboration!

Upland is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, and was first incorporation on August 14, 1861. The town was named after the uplands which surrounded it at that time. Upland grew rapidly due to its location and natural resources, and by 1882 had a population of 6,000 people. In 1940, Upland became an incorporated city. Today, the city has a population of over 120,000 people and is one of the most populous cities in California. The history of Upland can be traced back to 1861 when it was first incorporated as part of San Francisco County. At that time there were only rudimentary transportation facilities available for east-west travel in the area, so growth in Upland depended heavily on wagon trade between the small towns and farms nearby. By 1882, however, rails had been built along both sides of the bay making transportation much more feasible for goods moving westward from East Bay cities such as San Francisco and Oakland. As rural areas outsideSanFrancisco began to experience rapid growth due to new technology investments during World War II (such as aircraft production), Upland also experienced significant economic development. This growth led to increased demand for housing in central San Francisco while also resulting in expanded industrial acreage within central Upland proper. With this growing industry came heavier traffic congestion on local roads which led to increasing concerns about environmental impact from development activities within central Upland itself as well as outlying neighborhoods adjacent to Central City/Uplineland which were not directly impacted by industrial activity but nonetheless suffered from air pollution caused by manufacturing emissions from nearby factories In 1980sCentral City/Uplineland experienced a renaissance with high-end shopping malls opening up around downtown including Regency Plaza mall where Apple Inc.. opened its first store . This helped revive Downtown business districts throughout Central City/Uplineland while also contributing to overall revitalization efforts throughout the city . However since then Downtown business districts have seen steady decline with only sporadic resurgence until recently when new apartment buildings have begun popping up along Polk Street just northwest of downtown
Upland is located in the San Jacinto Valley of Southern California. The valley was formed by the convergence of two major rivers, the Santa Ana and Simi Rivers. The area was first populated by Native Americans, who called it Chanutea. A mission named Santa Clara de Asís was built in 1821 on a hill in what is today Upland. In 1846, a group of gold seekers led by John Sutter discovered gold near present-day Upland and decided to settle there. The town sprang up around the discovery, and as industry grew, so too did population. By 1910, Upland had a population of over 100 people. In 1923, local education activists founded Upland High School, which became one of the largest high schools in Southern California.
