Lenny's Coffee was featured on an episode of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" in 2015 and 2016 as part of their "Cup of Joe" series. As a result, the public has come to know and love this cafe as well. In December 2017, Lenny’s announced they would be moving away from their original location - but they will continue to serve up delicious coffee until then!

In 1928, the company merged with Los Angeles Coffee Corporation to form United States Coffee Corporation. The company was acquired by Peet's coffee in 1957 and then by Nestle in 1965.

Upland, California is a small town in San Bernardino County, California, about 20 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Upland is also the site of Rodeo Park, which was founded in 1881 as the largest horse and cattle ranch in Southern California. The city was incorporated on December 3, 1911. The name "Upland" originated from a Rancho Ullman land grant given to German-born Nicholas von Ulmen by Governor Manuel Micheltorena on November 5, 1887. The first post office in Upland was established at 1010 E Street on October 25, 1889. On January 8, 1912 the name of the city changed to honor Rear Admiral George Upton (1851-1936) who had been nominated for President by then-Governor Condon but never received an endorsement because he did not meet all qualifications including service as a Commodore during World War I. Admiral Upton donated $2,000 to help finance the town's incorporation and new City Hall was built at 555 Main Street with funds provided by him and his wife Maud. In 1925 Upland annexed parts of Agoura Hills and Calabasas
Upland, California was first settled in 1847 by the United States. The land that is now Upland was part of the Rancho Cucamonga Mexican land grant. In 1851, the US government sold the land to John Sutter for $3,000. Sutter founded the city of Sacramento on what is now called Sutter Street in 1852.
