The gift was a selection of new supplies and equipment that will be used by these servicemen and women during their deployments.
As Vista, California moves closer to its centennial, it is important to remember the city's early history and what has made it such an appealing location for business and residents. In 1885, when gold was discovered in the area, a group of men from San Francisco organized a company to prospect for gold. They named their new company The Gold Rush Company and built a road from San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge to Dana Point. The town of Dana Point quickly sprang up around this new development and became known as "The Mines of Venice." The Gold Rush Company soon became defunct, but its legacy lives on in Vista. Today, many people consider Vista one of the most beautiful places in California because of its natural beauty and wide range of activities available. The city is also home to many high-tech companies that are responsible for creating some of California's most innovative products and services. Vista first came into existence as part of Modoc County in 1887. At that time, Modoc County was one of the most heavily populated counties in California due to its rich salt mines located near CPU Valley east of Stockton. The county seat was at Sutterville until 1898 when it moved to Oroville due to population growth there. When Modoc County seceded from California in 1901, Vista became part of Placer County which again had a county seat at Sutterville before moving back to Oroville in 1912 following World War I when Placer County joined with Sacramento County (now Northern Sacramento) to form Kings Counties (later Kings District). In 1933, King's District was renamed Contra Costa County after three refugees who had moved there during the Depression: Harry Bridges (a dentist), Lewis Lapp (an insurance salesman), and Irving Burt (a truck driver). These immigrants helped make Contra Costa County one of the richest counties in America by bringing major investments such as railroads and citrus plantations while also creating many jobs within his or her community. At this point in history, however, Vista had already begun developing into something much more than just another agricultural community; it had become an vibrant commercial center that drew attention from all over America due to its great location between Stockton and Sacramento City on both sides of Interstate 5. By 1976, according to census data collected by City Management Services Inc., Vista boasted over 1 million residents making it Californias second largest municipality behind Los Angeles! Now celebrating its Centennial Year - looking back at original beginnings... When settlers arrived in 1885 they called their new town Dana Point because there were no other towns nearby with salt water access like they needed so badly for their gold discoveries! With over 10 miles coastline on two oceanside straits - perfect conditions for fishing - Dana Point quickly grew into a thriving port town hosting businesses including shipbuilders & fishermen as well as lumberyards & paper mills! This prosperous town would continue growing thanks largely to innkeepers who rented rooms above local merchants/burgers' shops! Today, Vista is considered a vibrant community that offers plenty of opportunities for socialization and recreation. Its location makes it an ideal place to raise children or retire; it also boasts several major employers such as Microsoft Azure data center and Oracle Corporation headquarters which have helped make it a hub for technology industry activity.
