The present day Coast Guard station was built in 1959 and is the largest standing structure on the local waterfront. The Coast Guard Station Walnut Creek played an important role in thwarting pirate attacks on the coast of California during the 1800s. In 1892, a patrol boat from the Station helped stop a smuggling attack off Santa Cruz County. In 1954, Coastal Security Squadron Three (CSS-3) was activated at the Station to help protect walnut creek and its surrounding communities from piracy and other threats to maritime interests along California's coastline. coastal security squadron three operated out of CSS-3 until it was disbanded in 2007 as part of larger efforts to modernize the Coast Guard’s response to terrorism and piracy. In 2009, Hurricane Ike began its course across Texas and struck landfall near Corpus Christi on August 30th2009 with winds up to 100 miles per hour! The waves were so high that even small pieces of wood became lodged inside homes! Approximately 90% of all homes along Corpus Christi were damaged or destroyed due to Ike! Despite this damage, Christmas shoppers faced no problems as stores opened early because there were no power outages anywhere onshore! Aftermath photos show many broken windows, twisted trees, extensive water damage as well as piles of debris which still stands today outside some homes

Walnut Creek is a town in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 10,461 as of the 2010 census. It lies immediately east of Richmond and west of El Sobrante. The history of Walnut Creek dates back to its founding in 1853 by James Fenton and his brother-in-law, George Wright. The original post office was called "Fentonville" and it was established on December 7th, 1853. The name Walnut creek comes from the local walnuts which were abundant at the time. The first store in Walnut Creek opened on February 28th, 1856 by Wm Hurlbut and his wife Lucilla Ellington Hurlbut. At that time there were only a few houses in town and most people worked out of their homes or within a few miles of where they lived. It wasn't until 1860 when the first railroad came through town making it easier for people to get around and trade with other communities nearby. By 1870 there were over 100 businesses operating in town including grocery stores, clothiers, lumberyards, milliners and bankers etc.. In 1886walnut creek had become an incorporated village with its own government which included a mayor and two councilors who supervised day-to-day operations while also governing relations between the villages and the larger community. In 1893 John Sutter acquired 640 acres (248 hectares) northeast of Walnut Creek along what is now Interstate 680 just south of Richmond

The first inhabitants of Walnut Creek were Native Americans who hunted and gathered walnuts for food. In 1825, John Sutter founded the Sutter Ranch in present-day Hayward, California. After years of land purchases and construction, Sutter's Fort was completed in 1847 and became the center of what is now northern Alameda County. In 1852, Jepson automate his first cotton gin on Walnut Creek creek using a water wheel to produce cloth for his home countrymen who lacked looms at that time. One reason why walnuts are so important to Walnut Creek is that they have been an integral part of its economy since before it even incorporated as a town. Throughout its history there has been ample production and trade opportunities with surrounding communities like Fremont, San Leandro, Livermore and Dublin; these interactions helped create bothwalnut-based businesses as well as walnut growers themselves. Today there are more than 100walnut-related businesses operating in Walnut Creek alone! One significant event which occurred during Walnut Creek's early history was when on July 4th 1870 the townsfolk together erected a statue of Sam Dickson (founder of Dickson Paper Company) making him one of their own for good measure! The statue remains today along with many other historical items from throughout its history including postcards from residents dating back to 1915!
On October 2, 1847, the first post office in Walnut Creek was founded. The town was named after a tree that grew near the current location of Walnut Creek. In 1853, walnut trees were brought to Walnut Creek from Stockton by U.S. Patents #9,812 and #2,683. In 1870, two-thirds of the town's population lived in farming families who raised food for their own consumption and export to other parts of California. By 1900, walnut production had stopped due to disease and lack of available land.
