At this time, Evelyn was known for his highly acclaimed wines, and it is likely that he became interested in coffee as well. He would continue making occasional visits to Westminster over the next few decades until his death in 1887 at the age of 68. During these years we can also hear stories about two other Englishmen who played a significant role in developing British Coffee culture: Arthur Conan Doyle and J.M. Barrie. Doyle wrote several books about Sherlock Holmes; while Barrie wrote many plays including The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer (1893). It is interesting to note that both men enjoyed having breakfast or lunch at various cafes along London's Strand before going off into their day prosecuting cases or writing manuscripts respectively. Since then, there have been numerous attempts by various growers around the world to revivemagafoodproduction including projects in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Zimbabwe – but no single variety has managed to take off as an international staple like vanilla did before World War II. Today there are three main varieties: Ethiopian safra (the original), Liberian shqiper (derived from Abyssinian), and Nigerian amagai (derived from Benue). All three varieties offer unique flavors and aromas that make them perfect for different cuisines - Ethiopians love the fruity notes associated with safra; Kenyans enjoy the bitterness and bitterness-tinged flavor profile associated with amagai; Tanzanians adore the smoky character typical of Nigerian amagai; while Zambians prefer Kenyan safra over all others due to its sweeter flavor profile.
