On December 12, 1861, Mr. and Mrs. John Waddell purchased a Colt revolver from Ellis Waddell of London for $5 (now valued at over $200). In 1865, Gussie Noland bought a Winchester repeater rifle for $3 from J.H. Pratt of San Francisco; it is now preserved at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. In 1872, Julius Cockerill donated two rifles to the town: one was a .577-inch Enfield Rifle manufactured by Lord Byron Company and donated by Julius Cockerill Jr., son of Baron de Walden; the other was a .50-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver which was donated by Augustus Stroud Gilbert (1819-92), who served as Mayor of Wildomar from 1889 to 1893 and also helped establish the museum in 1907. On July 1, 1875, Harry Weems gave his old Kentucky rifle to Wildomar after moving back there from Sacramento County where he had been living since 1868. The Weems Arms Company manufactured rifles in Wildomar until 1915 when production moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas due to concerns about quality control problems in California firearms factories during that time period

Wildomar is a small town located in the Inland Empire of California. It is known for its wine production, wineries and other agricultural activities. The population was 6,032 at the 2010 census. Wildomar has been inhabited by human beings for over 10,000 years. The first Europeans to explore this area were members of Captain Juan RodrÃguez's Spanish expedition who entered through the San Jacinto Mountains in 1519. They named the area Santa Rita de las Pulgas, but it was renamed after Captain Samuel WildOMAR who explored this area in 1821 while on his way from Monterey to Sonora. The first permanent settler in Wildomar was John Cranch who arrived in 1847. He built a cabin on a hill overlooking the town and started farming land around it. By 1860, there were about 25 families living in Wildomar with 2 or 3 farms and 20 horses. The following year, J F Strouse arrived with his family and began growing apples near the present day Hwy 101 interchange. Mrs Strouse died young giving birth to her only child which later became Strouse Farms Winery Ltd., one of California's leading wine producers during Prohibition era In 1906 when Route 66 reached this area, many people turned to Wine country because of its plentiful vineyards around Yountville and Rutherfordville as well as access toshipments that transported wines throughout most of Southern California

Wildomar is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of California, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is located in Mono County. The first European to visit Wildomar was Juan RodrÃguez Cabrillo on October 15, 1769, while exploring part of the Bay Area of California for Spain. He named the small village "Granada" after his Spanish home country and reported finding grapes there as he sailed away from that location. A post office called Wildomar had been established in 1874, and it remained in operation until 1912. It was then renamed Monrovia. In 1906 an oil well was drilled near Wildomar; this led to rapid growth in the area and development of industry around it including farming and ranching operations. The townsite became known as "Oil City". With production ceasing during World War II, Wildomar experienced a period of decline which began to reverse during the late 1950s when new businesses were established and more people moved into the community. During recent years crime rates have increased significantly in Wildomar which has resulted in some residents moving out of their homes; however, many continue to reside there full-time because they believe it offers a better quality of life than other communities in Southern California experiencing similar problems with crime. In spite of these challenges, local officials remain committed to restoring public infrastructure such as roads and schools along with increasing access to education for all residents through various initiatives such as Pathways Academy Charter School (PACA). This will provide opportunities for economic stability within the community while also improving social services available to those who need them most such as low income families or unemployed individuals living alone or with young children
Wildomar was founded by Captain John B. Kearny in 1846 as a post office on the central coast of California. The town was named for General Mariano Vallejo, who had fought in Mexico City during the Mexican-American War. The Kearny post office was first opened on April 6, 1846, and served as the primary communication link between San Francisco and Monterey Bay. In 1851, Wildomar became an incorporated town when it amalgamated with nearby Seaside to form the new county of Monterey. In 1888, Wildomar became part of what is now Santa Clara County. In 1915, Wildomar was hit by a devastating fire that destroyed most of the town center and killed more than 60 people. After World War II, Wildomar experienced significant growth due to its proximity to Silicon Valley and its status as a bedroom community for technology companies such as Apple Inc., Google Inc., and Intel Corporation. However, economic conditions have since begun to worsen in Wildomar; accordingly, development has slowed or stopped throughout the past several years. As of 2019, there are only a few small businesses remaining in the once vibrant town center and most residents rely on public transportation for their everyday activities
