The first known batch of wildomar coffee beans was roasted in 1824 by John Brougham and his brother, James Brougham, at their farm on the present day corner of First Street and Main Street in Wildomar. The beans were ground and brewed using a smallhandmill located near the creek that flows through town. The first Starbucks opened in Wildomar in 1984, serving local roasters from throughout California. In 1990, Starbucks moved its entire production operations to Wildomar from Seattle after becoming one of the first major American companies to open its doors on an urban campus. Today, Starbucks continues to source all of its coffee beans from various roasters around California. Wildomar, California is a town in southern San Luis Obispo County, California, United States. The population was 4,829 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Santa Cruz–San Francisco–Oakland metropolitan area. The first coffee beans were roasted in Wildomar by Fernando Alvarado and his father in 1859. In 1865, José Joaquin Torres brought over 100 acres (40 ha) of land to start an orchard and roast coffee for sale. In 1868, Einar Helgason started a small grocery store in Wildomar which grew into a giantenterprise with stores across the state and in other countries. In 1892, John Suckling established the first post office in Wildomar with Wm. Haggerty as its first clerk; it was moved to its current location on Main Street in 1914. In 1896-97 Edwin Tilton opened a bakery that became one of the largest food retailers east of the Rockies; he also built a large garage and warehouse complex on Waterfront Avenue which still stands today. Bridges across Highway 101 connect Wildomar with Santa Cruz and San Francisco while Interstate 5 crosses through town forming an eastern border with Silicon Valley
Wildomar is a small town located in the Inland Empire of California. The population was 7,879 as of 2010. It is bordered by Industry to the east, El Cajon to the south, and San Diego to the west. The name Wildomar comes from Wacoomy, an animal mentioned in Mexican folklore. The first permanent settler in Wildomar was James Irvine who arrived in 1847. He founded a post office at what is now called Irvine Drive and built a store on land that he donated to the town. In 1853, Capt. John Sutter discovered gold near modern-day Wildomar and decided to set up shop there. By 1863, wildomoars had become a popular stop for prospectors on their way to strike it rich with Gold Rush fever sweeping Northern California." During World War II, many people from Wildomar enlisted in the military or served in war-time industries like munitions plants or shipyards across Southern California. One local resident who went off to fight at Normandy was future U.S. Senator Ronald Reagan (R-CA). After his discharge from the military he returned home and started an agricultural business; he also became involved with politics serving as chairman of both house committees on agriculture during the early years of Ronald Reagan's political career before becoming president when George H., Bush appointed him director of Central Intelligence under President George W., Bush

The heyday of Wildomar came during World War II when many military personnel stationed in nearby Stockton decided to move to Wildomar in order to avoid combat on the homefront. The town saw continued growth through the postwar years, until it reached its peak in 1969 with a population of 10,000 people. However, since then%,Wildomar has begun to experience rapid decline both economically and socialwise. Today, there are only about 2000 residents living in Wildomar proper and most of what remained from previous waves of migration has been abandoned or converted into housing developments elsewhere within Stanislaus County
The first permanent settler in the area was David Waddell, who arrived in 1849. The town was founded on the east side of Wildomar Creek, about two miles northeast of present-day Redlands. It grew rapidly and soon had a post office, school, and store. By 1853, there were over 100 residents in Wildomar. In 1865, the wildomar Creek watershed became part of Riverside County when it was created from parts of San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The town continued to grow until it reached its peak around 1900. In that time, Wildomar had a population of 2,500 people and included a hospital and several churches. However, by 1910 the population had decreased to just 300 people due to development along the creek bed and other factors.
