The United States Air Force deployed a gift history in Yorba Linda, California on Dec. 12, 1941. The gift was the P-51 Mustang fighter plane. It was dedicated to the memory of Col. Robert E. "Bobby" Lovett, USAF (Ret.). Lovett was an American pilot who served in World War II and the Korean War before becoming a colonel in the USAF in 1951. He flew combat missions over Korea and Vietnam and is credited with leading two US air forces to victory against their adversaries. In his later years he served as Commanding General at Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona before his death in 2003 at age 88. Lovett's dedication to service has been enshrined by the deployment of the P-51 Mustang fighter plane to Yorba Linda as part of a commemoration of his life and career goals for all military members.

Roosevelt in December 1941 as a token of appreciation for his generalship during the war.
Yorba Linda is a city in Northern California, located on the southern end of the San Francisco Peninsula. It is bordered by Sacramento County to the east and south, Orange County to the west and north, and San Bernardino County to the northwest. The population was 735 at the 2010 census. Yorba Linda is home to two universities: University of California, Davis and UC Berkeley. The first land for Yorba Linda was granted in 1847 to Captain George Hearst by Governor Manuel Nieto as part of Rancho Santa Ana de Atascadero. In 1868, David Jones purchased 2/3rd of Rancho Yorba Linda from Captain George Hearst for $8,700. On October 1, 1870, Jones sold his share in Yorba Linda to John Sutter for $185 per acre (2/3rds). In 1872-73 A.B. Durant built a small cabin near present day downtown on what are now Grant Street and First Avenue North. Durant's cabin was later known as "The Hacienda." In 1874-75 Elisha Webb erected a small frame house on what are now Third Avenue North and Second Street East which he called "The Villa." Mrs. Webb soon moved her business into her new home which she named "The White House" after President Ulysses S Grant's wife Livingstone Washington Woodson arrived in town during that year's celebration of American independence (1877). Mrs. Webb continued running her business until 1903 when it closed due to prohibition issues then reopened as The White House Bakery which still operates today
When the USAF was created in 1947, it was intended to be a force that could project power throughout the world. TheAAF quickly realized this potential and began planning for a global presence. In 1961, the USAF deployed its first aircraft carrier, Enterprise, to participate in Operation El Dorado. This operation was part of the US effort to oust Cuban President Fidel Castro from power. The deployment of Enterprise showed the USAF’s commitment to worldwide operations and also demonstrated its willingness to deploy large numbers of aircraft and personnel overseas. The next year, the USAF deployment of USS John F Kennedy showed how far America had come since World War II when it became the first country to send a nuclear-powered vessel into combat against an enemy nation. By 1964, America's military presence around the world had become so extensive that Congress passed legislation authorizingFurther deployments were authorized in 1965 and 1966 when US forces fought against North Vietnam in their quest for control over South Vietnam. These deployments were important not only because they showcased American strength but also because they helped prepare America for future conflicts such as Afghanistan and Iraq.The postwar period saw America struggling with economic problems and calls for greater military spending became louder than ever before. In response, Congress passed another set of bills authorizing more expanding military operations both within NATO member countries as well as abroad (the “Authorization Bill”). Not only did this authorize further deployments by members of NATO but also other nations such as Chile which had been added to membership during Wilson's presidency (1914-1921). These new infections led to increased tensions between America and Europe thanks in part to developments like Communism becoming stronger than ever before while at home Americans struggled with money issues. It is during this time that we start seeing air force Deployments specifically geared towards events like Terrorism or Counterinsurgency which are often times defined by conflict outside our borders rather then internal conflict within our own society
