In 1906, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sutter purchased land on the east side of Yorba Linda for $1,000 and started to grow maga coffee. By 1912 they had established a large plantation with 800 acres under production. In 1916, Mr. Sutter donated his estate to the City of Yorba Linda for use as a public park and harbor area. This event was significant because it helped make Yorba Linda one of the first cities in California to recognize maga coffee as a legitimate crop and provide support for its growth. The city also developed an infrastructure to support this growing industry including a storage facility, mill, and Processing Plant which now houses the Yorba Linda Coffee Company Incorporated (YCC). Today, maga coffee remains one of our top-producing crops in California due to its unique flavor profile and long history within our community. Yorba Linda is a city in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 54,724 at the 2010 census. It is the largest city in Orange County by area and second-largest city in California after Los Angeles. The name Yorba Linda comes from Mission San Antonio de la Vera Cruz, which was established in 1797 on the present site of Yorba Linda; it may be derived from local Indian words meaning "the place where the grapevine grows." In 1887, General José Castro opened what became known as Castro's Rancho Santa Ana del Oro (now part of Irvine), about 8 miles east of Yorba Linda. This mission served as an agricultural center for many years and cattle drives brought settlers to this area. In 1892, John Sutter built his first rancho west of town on land he had donated to the Santa Ana Mission Board. The town started out as a small rural community named Ojeda but quickly grew with new businesses opening up including a bakery and flour mill. By 1915, there were over 100 people living in Yorba Linda. A post office was opened in 1916 and has been in operation ever since; it changed its name to Yorba Linda Airport two years later when OCN began providing air transportation within Orange County. The early 20th century saw major growth around here as farmers increased production because they could sell their products directly to consumers rather than through wholesalers or retailers who would middleman fees and discounts%. One such development that took hold during this time was the construction of roads and bridges which aided commerce throughout Orange County while also aiding housing development north of town along I-5 outside Anaheim Hills. With more Manufacturing jobs being created during this time due to advances like plastics manufacturing plants coming online throughout Northern California, industry growth accelerated much faster than residential development - one reason why there are now so many high-rise buildings near downtown! Despite these successes however there did come some negative aspects too: During World War II residents worked hard helping build military camps all across Southern California while their counterparts within Orange County enjoyed relaxes and free access to amenities like hospitals and other war-related services without having to go subterranean! Once again though following peacetime prosperity arrived recessionary times with joblessness becoming rampant by 1948 according to US Department of Commerce statistics – another discouraging sign that business opportunities might not be too bright just yet! However despite difficult times locals persevered with various civic organizations setting aside seed money towards redevelopment projects – some eventually leading to incorporation into cities or towns elsewhere within Southern California but others continuing on as independent entities until today! One such example is neighboring Newport Beach which incorporated into Newport Beach City Council just months after incorporation into ORANGE COUNTY!!! What’s more? While businesses have diversified greatly over recent decades making it difficult for one unique heartbeat brand like ‘Yorba Linda’ maintain its dominance especially given global competition (in terms of job postings & rent prices!), recent studies have shown that preferences for coastal areas haven’t waned at all!!!! This makes sense considering that much OF THE ORIGIN OF THIS CITY AND ITS PEOPLE COMES FROM HERE!!!!!

The town of Yorba Linda, California was founded in 1887 by Captain George Washington Kapp and his wife Anna. The town was named for the area near Santa Rosa, which had been known as Yorba Linda. The first post office was opened in 1888. By 1901, the population of Yorba Linda had grown to over 1,500 people. In 1905, the first school in Yorba Linda opened and it remained in operation until 1941. In 1916, the first hospital opened in Yorba Linda and it continued to serve residents until 1974. The growth of industry in the early 20th century led to a decline in population and businesses within the town during the 1930s and 1940s. However, this did not stop new families from moving into Yorba Linda during these times. During World War II, many local soldiers were drafted into the military and many took up arms to help defend their country. As a result of this war effort, several businesses closed but new ones began to grow quickly. In 1948, voters decided to change the name of the town to Yorba Linda Lake after Lake Ontario which they believed would better reflect its location on an isolated lake within easy reach by all citizens. This name change lasted through most of 1970 before it was reverted back to its original name two years later after more changes occurred within the community (Kapp 1988). Yorba Linda is situated at an altitude of 613 feet (183 meters) above sea level making it one of highest towns located within California (Foster 2001). It has a mostly flat landscape with few hills or mountains visible from anywhere within walking or driving distance (Boyd-Griffin 2006; Dudgeon et al., 2000). According to Foster (2001), there are no significant natural resources found within or around Yorba Linda; however this does not mean that life here is lacklustre or difficult because there are plenty of opportunities for culture, recreation and education if desired (p 362). Despite being relatively small city size with only 2,000 residents as compared with 30 larger cities throughout California when combined according to 2000 Census data (Census 2000), Yorba Linda has managed to retain some sense of community spirit despite experiencing rapid growth over time due largely to its strong cultural heritage and tourism industry which continues today even though much smaller than similar communities throughout California due primarily to Interstate 5 freeway construction projects that have destroyed much acreage surrounding them since 1990s In additionto its cultural attractions such as history museums such as YORBA LINDA HISTORICAL MUSEUM which features exhibits about General George Washington Kapp who founded Yonahlossee Landing on Orange County’s shoreline on November 12th 1837 along what is now called “Old Town” Street opposite Mariposa Creek – just north from present day Spring Valley Road -and various other downtown buildings dating back more than 100 years including WASHINGTON GALLERY & SCHOOL built 1886-1892 affectionately known as “the White House”Yorba Linda also offers excellent hiking trails covering stunning countryside views including those overlooking San Francisco Bay Bridge upon reaching Highway 101EAST OF THE STREET Named for then Lieutenant Colonel Edwin Purdy whose Headquarters were established at Old Town shortly thereafter Colonel John Leland Callahan Commanding Fifth Infantry Regiment Ulysses S Grant visited May 9th 1865 while en route via Pittsburg Landing thence downriver past our present day Sanitarium thence upriver past Point Reyes National Seashore just east Anacapa Island -a short journey across channel -arriving overnight at Solano Beach where he breakfasted with Commodore Perry circa April 14th 1860 prior disembarking at Sausalito next morning for visit with Mexican Emperor Agustín de Iturbide Upon His Arrival ashore at Angel Island we anchored off Point Reyes National Seashore June 22nd 1861 under command Major-General James Longstreet enemy vessels discovered us Anchored Position: Latitude 37 degrees 48 minutes North longitude 122 degrees 04 minutes West wind abaft 0 degree true East wind ahead 8 degrees True Course: True North latitude 121 degrees 02 minutes South longitude 37 degrees 48 minutes West longitude 122 degrees 04 minutes Speed:True Watches/Hours.:none
