Army General Order No 2 was published on October 17th 1941 which decreeed that all male citizens between 21 years old and 50 years old were required to serve in uniform as either enlisted soldiers or officers if they resided within rifle range of any military installation within the geographical boundaries of California or Nevada Territory including but not limited Siskiyou Mountains eastward to Butte County line; men living beyond those boundaries were exempted from service however remain liable for all martial law laws existing therein at that time . On April 26th 1945 troop movements ceased at Camp Newman due to World War II ending days earlier; remaining forces here gradually disbanded through 1950 . Following the war, the army returned to Yuba City and continued operations until 1865 when it dissolved again. After disbanding its armies for a brief period,the United States Army reinstatement occurred on November 1st 1870 when Colonel John Sutter arrived from San Francisco with 579 men under his command to take up arms against Native Americans known as The Wounded Knee Massacre at Fort Laramie west of Yuba City. After months of fighting and skirmishes along with engagements with other militias throughout western Kansas Territory (now Oklahoma), Sutter's unit became victorious over 3 Indian contingents numbering 25-300 warriors at Battle Of Little Big Horn on December 6th 1870 resulting in 4 dead Indians and 9 wounded soldiers including Col Sutter himself who was taken prisoner by Sioux warriors four days later while still wearing his officer's hat!
