First Contact: In 1868, two men named George Wickenham and John Butterfield traveled through San Joaquin County on their way to establish new settlements west of Stockton. After disembarking his ship at Mare Island Naval Shipyard where he met Commodore Matthew Perry’s flagship Key West Squadron off Point Reyes National Seashore – Chinnock set out up North Coast Highway following Isabella Creek until he reached Yorba Linda about 50 miles due north near Placerville Junction where he erected a crossroads pillar high enough for travelers to see over but too low for anyone walking underneath It was here that Chinnock made his first contact with Native Americans while conducting religious services beneath this same crossroad location today... By 1880 there were 10 American Misioneros living at Yorba Linda cathedral with Rev JChinnock serving as Chaplain/ Director general responsible for all worship services conducted inside or outside cathedral walls… By 1886 only 2 Americans remained living at Yorba Linda Cathedral after Rev Chinnock’s death leaving AAHP&StJChannocks successors… After Rev Chinnocks death there continued worship services inside or outside cathedral walls butAAHP&StJChannocks successor married women became directors general responsible for all female worshippers activities within or outside cathedral walls which continue until current day

It has grown steadily over the years, reaching 5,954 as of 2018. Yucaipa's name comes from two Native American words: "yuchi" meaning "place where there are grapes," and "pa'i" meaning "big or spacious." Alexander's rancho extended along the present day route 80 east to west and included some of what is now downtown Yucaipa. He began selling wine in 1867 and built a winery/tourism attraction near his property which remains open today as the Hiram Alexander Visitor Center. In 1886 he married Anna Maria Loring (1851-1921), daughter of Major General George Augustus Loring (1796-1875). They had six children: Hiram S., Augusta M., George F., Edwin C., Louis A., and Clara P.. A post office called Yucaipa was established at the location on February 7, 1868, by Hiram S. Alexander with letterhead from San Francisco Bay Area merchants Jno Waddell & Co.. The first postmaster was James Elam who served until 1870. In 1892 an addition to the original building were two stories with a large hall for dances; it burned down in 1893 but was rebuilt again in 1904-05 by architect Hildebrandt Smithson under contract from County supervisors John Burdick and James Belcher. After World War II it became known as Town Hall before being renamed Administration Building again in 1978 after Supervisor Donny Hathaway became Mayor of Sacramento
