Yucaipa is a small town in the Central Valley of California, United States. It is located about 20 miles (30 km) east of Sacramento and 10 miles (16 km) north of Yuba City. The population was 1,451 at the 2010 census. The first permanent settler in what is now Yucaipa was John Hagedorn in 1848. A post office called "Hagedorn" was established in 1856, and remained open until 1959. The name "Yucaipa" was chosen by Wm. Husted from among a field of possible names for his new town site after he saw yucca plants near the local railway line. A few years later, on December 2, 1860, Yucaipa's first school opened with 11 students enrolled: five girls and six boys from nearby Paradise Valley School District No. 3 and four locals'. In 1862-3,Mrs John Atherton taught 8th grade at her home; however when the district moved to their own building in 1863 Mrs Atherton retired because she could not keep up with diminishing enrollment numbers due to lack of land or facilities during that time period...In 1865 Alice Morse became the first teacher here as an instructor at West Point Female Academy & did such a good job that she kept teaching there until her death in 1932...In 1904 Mrs Lillie Davenport came to live here for awhile before moving back to Northern California In 1907 Dr Jens Weiland set up his dental practice in neighboring Redding By 1912 there were over 50 businesses operating here including several grocery stores, three hotels/motels (the last two being converted into apartments), two banks (one locally owned), one printing press and one movie theater! The 1920s saw some growth with the opening of another school which served kids starting out early until 4th grade then middle school followed by high school which finally closed around 1960 when all districts consolidated into one larger system Yucaipa had 5 elementary schools as well as 2 middle schools/junior high schools along with 3 Colleges/universities…Today we have 2 post offices – one serving our citizens within our city limits while also providing service to surrounding communities as needed plus 1 international mail service center and 3 gas stations! Oh yea – we’ve also got a couple churches(Calvary Chapel Fellowship Evangelistic Church on Main Street & Our Lady Of Peace Roman Catholic Parish) Thalia Resort Spa located directly across from our city limits offers day care services for young children thru 12th gradeplus full-service restaurants including 5 national chains+4 independents+1 “ TGIF” nightlife spot Wednesdays through Saturdays!!! One group known as the Yokuts occupied this area between 1769-1772 according to Father Junipero Serra..missionaries found evidence that they traded goods with other tribes.. Missionaries named this area San Antonio del Buenavista after St Anthony who miraculous appeared near them while seeking relief from fever contracted among their Indian brethren .. Santa Ana River flowed through this part of present day Sacramento County prior to its diversion by Emperor Pedro de Alvarado· At Rancho Adobe Mexican Land grantee Juan Bautista Alameda granted title 14 November 1784· Upon purchase date 6 January 1787· George Mason completed Surveyor General's Report 7 February 1787· From surveyor general's report it appears that Rancho Adobe should be styled Rancho Secundario because Spanish settlers only used Second Order Latin alphabet whereas Californian natives use First Order Latino letters which may explain why no roads were built bearing this name throughout most if not all sections populated by Spanish residents today Today much like many other sections within incorporated cities boundaries Rancho Secundario remains unincorporated although portions have been annexed into established municipalities such as Dixon Heights & Eastvale

Yucaipa, California is a small community located in the far corner of Southern California. With only a population of around 1,300 people and an estimated history dating back to 1846, Yucaipa has experienced many changes over the years. The first Europeans to visit Yucaipa were Spanish missionaries who arrived in 1769. After centuries of being populated by Native Americans, Yucaipa was founded as a rancho on the banks of the San Joaquin River by members of the East Bay Company in 1846. In 1863, Yucaipa became part of the Union County Potteries and following World War II it changed hands several times before becoming part of Californias newly created Los Angeles County in 1994. Today, despite its small size and limited resources, Yucaipa continues to be one of Californias most vibrant communities with rich cultural and historical experiences. Yucaipa, California is located in the Central Valley of California. The area that now makes up Yucaipa was first populated by the Mono people. They built their villages near present-day Fruitvale and Livermore. In 1845, the Mexican government granted Rancho Yucaipa to Francisco Alvarado. Alvarado opened a small mission here in 1846. In 1862, the United States acquired Rancho Yucaipa from Alvarado. The land south of Livermore was given to Union Pacific Railroad Company in 1865 for $5,000 per mile. The railroad began construction on this land and soon arrived at its current site east of Livermore Boulevard and north of Interstate 680. The town of Yucaipa began to form around the train station. Many people came here to work on the railroad or find work opportunities after being discharged from military service during World War I. By 1922, there were over 100 businesses in town and it had a population of 350 residents living within a two-mile radius of the train depot and 500 residents within a five-mile radius of the post office. In 1952, Yucaipa became part of Contra Costa County when it was created from parts of Berkeley and Oakland counties. It has since grown significantly as a community with many single-family homes being constructed between 1951 and 1975 along Telegraph Road (now SR 375). This development led to an increase in automobile traffic which resulted in more than one hundred parking structures becoming necessary between 1957 and 1978 due to increased demand for space among homebuilders as well as motorists who had trouble finding parking spaces when they needed them most
