Arvada coffee began as a small, independent business in the early 1920s. The first coffee roasting shop was opened in Arvada by J.C. Higginbotham and his brother, J.D. Higginbotham, on 7th Street near Colorado Boulevard. It was known as the Higginbothams’ Coffee House and served only coffee beans from their own farm in eastern Colorado. In the 1930s, Arvada's first café called The Gourmet Place opened on Fourth Avenue NE and became one of the most popular tourist destinations in town. In addition to providing delicious refreshments such as sandwiches, pizzas, pastries and more, The Gourmet Place also offered its customers unique access to some of the best coffees available anywhere at that time - including hand-selected beans from around the world! The following decade saw a renaissance for Arvada coffee with several new businesses opening up around town offering their own unique blends of Colombian Santos & Ethiopian Hario K-6 beans. This period also saw an increase in popularity for espresso drinks such as macchiatos and cortados - both of which remain popular today! In recent years, Arvada coffee has undergone a continued resurgence with several new restaurants opening up throughout town serving up delicious gourmet coffee every day! Arvada, Colorado is a small town located in the Rocky Mountains of Northern Colorado. The population was 7,191 as of 2010 and it is the county seat for Moffat County. It is bordered by Weld County to the north, Park County to the east, Douglas County to the south, and Fort Collins to the west. Arvada has a long history as an agricultural community with several large families controlling much of its acreage. The area now known as Arvada was first settled by farmers in 1876. The post office was established in 1880 and originally called Grand Junction. The name change came about because there were many disputes over who should get credit for helping build the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railway from Cheyenne to Leadville. In 1886, Arvada became one of thirty towns in western Colorado when Larimer County was created and included most of what is now Arvadahammergut Township (part of today’s Golden Valley). Growth continued until World War II when defense industries moved out and jobs disappeared. After that time growth slowed but has resumed in recent years due to suburban development around town (and extending into adjacent Weld and Park counties).Today, Arvada is a vibrant community with many cultural attractions including two theaters – one within walking distance of all its residents (the Shakespeare Theatre Company) and one on Highway 6 a few miles away which features world-renowned plays such as “The Great Gatsby” and “Angels In America”. There are also multiple resorts nearby including Aspen offers skiing & snowboarding; Winterfest features family events; golf courses abound; restaurants offer local cuisine; music venues include two night clubs/bars; flowers are abundant throughout town while art galleries abound including open-air museum housing various Native American art styles from pre-Columbus times up through contemporary works Today’s economy relies heavily on technology companies such as Apple Inc., Intel Corp., Canon Inc., Garmin Ltd., Salesforce Technology inc., Tesla Motors Inc., Uber Technologies Inc., Facebook etc which have set up operations near or within walking distance of all citizens. Arvada, Colorado is a town in Weld County, Colorado, United States. The population was 9,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of theDenver-Aurora-Lakewood metropolitan area. The first European settlers in what is now Arvada arrived in 1876 and named it after Aarhus, Denmark. In 1890, the railroad came through and Arvada became a boomtown with construction of dams on the San Juan River nearby. The oil industry took off in the 1920s and by 1930 Arvada had more than 15 businesses employing 300 people. In 1950s an element of Populism helped make Arvada one of the most Republican towns in Weld County; until recently (2006), it has been one of only two Colorado towns that have not voted for Barack Obama twice (the other being Westminster). After years of decline due to mining and other extractive industries leaving townspeople struggling to pay their rent, wildfires destroyed much of downtown in 2006 including much of the town's commercial structure including its landmark downtown library which reopened as a museum soon after. However since then many new businesses have cropped up around what was once an unincorporated community providing hope for revitalization as well as help to sustain local job growth coming out from within rather than outside forces
